katherineabbott:
Katherine cackled at Ameliaâs figure falling against her rickety, old sofa - old, but still comfortable. Everything inside of Katherineâs flat reeked of such, and it provided her with a sense of comfort when she felt like everything else around her was changing. But not with Amelia - no, if there remained one constant in her life, Katherine was positive that it would be the lively young woman sitting next to her. Katherine snorted. âI highly doubt that anyone would ever dare think that youâre a fool⊠well, except maybe me, stupid.â Katherine spoke the last term with affection, extending a hand to rustle with the other womanâs dark brown locks. Katherine felt the conversation veer towards more serious territory, and at the mention of her father, she shoveled another spoonful of rocky road into her mouth. She welcomed the accompanying brainfreeze as she shook her head. âRodolphus is⊠well, you know how I feel about my cousin. Puts on this facade, acts like a perfect gentleman all the time, but heâs just as prejudiced as the rest of them, no matter how much he tries to play nice. Have you seen him strutting around the Ministry as if he owns the place?â She allowed her spoon to fall with a clatter against her now empty bowl. âBut Amy⊠Amy isnât so bad.â The nickname for the Carrow child fell from her lips without her even realizing it, and it was too late to retract now as she met Ameliaâs eyes. âI swear, heâs a nice person! Even if heâs⊠got that unsettling eye contact thing going on for him, but if you can get past that, then I would say I actually prefer him to Rod.â
Amelia couldnât help the girly giggle that left her lips as Katherine rustled her hair, her nose scrunching up as she stuck her tongue out at her much like a younger sister would. Amelia was never the playful kind, and yet with Katherine she couldnât help but let all her worries disappear and just be herself. âHm, is it about your cousin? Or is it about the tall and handsome man beside your cousin like a security guard?â Amelia asked as she ate another spoonful of her ice cream, looking at Katherine knowingly - she was almost transparent to Amelia. She knew Kat had her issues with Rodolphus, but they went from bad to worse wherever Severus was concerned too, they were both like children fighting over the last cookie in the cookie jar, except that cookie was Severus Snape. âAmycus Carrow is charming, but thereâs something in his eye that makes me feel uncomfortable, Iâm sorry, I know we vowed to make Rodâs life miserable, but I rather him than Amycus for minister,â She said with a shiver. There was of course also the fact she was investigating Amycus, but she didnât want to tell Kat that, sheâd needlessly worry. Amelia could take care of herself. âRodolphus is... conceited, selfish, and has had everything in life handed to him, but Severus is a smart man, I trust Rodolphus as Minister more than Amycus because he has Severus at his side, and Severus has you, itâs a stronger team,â She explained before Kat could roll her eyes at her. âWhich brings me to, how is that going? Has he noticed yet that you looove him?â She teased as she let out another gleeful giggle.Â
