anyways part of why i have so little muse for america lately is because of how often i see people using herizen as her when lydia and i were the first people to come up with it. like, i absolutely adore this fancast and i love herzen as america, but i feel like i have some sort of claim over that casting ? like nobody would like if a blog besides @viduamor used angelina jolie as natasha, or someone other than @averagearcher used mike vogel for clint, especially after the work jean and robin have put into finding such perfect faceclaims. and i’ve put so much effort into shaping my portrayal around using herizen, and i’ve made numerous graphics and shit (most of which i’ve deleted in my reboot) but i guess like ?? whenever i see another blog pop up with herizen, or someone suggest her as a faceclaim for america, i just kinda feel bad about myself because when i chose her, there wasn’t a single person using her for america. not in the tag, not on other blogs, nobody. and i understand that accurate representation is important, and herizen is one of very few latinx women who are in their early-20s or late-teens, but then i see people using her and not specifying that their portrayal of america is afro-latinx, seeming to completely forget that her being so is completely a headcanon (though, one that many have).

and i’ve talked before about how there’s a blog that’s been copying me, and how i have receipts on them and shit but truly, i’m not going to call them out publicly. you know who you are. and being copied from, having my headcanons and faceclaim and meta lifted from my blog very obviously, really fucking sucks. sure, it’s the same canon character, there’s bound to be similarities, but this is just too much.

so i’m taking a break from america. i’ll probably come back to her when the next issue is released and publish a long-winded rant about how i feel (which, i’ll almost definitely hate it) and hopefully get back into the swing of things on here.
