Unknown is currently looking for Assistants to help with the zine.
His plan is to bring 20 artists, 5 writers, 5 merch artists, and 1-3 graphic designers to Magenta (excluding the Believer Mods & Guests).
All Assistants will be rewarded with the gift of salvation; in other words, a free copy of the zine. If funds allow, free shipping and merch bundles may also be included.
Art Assistant and Merch Assistant Role & Requirements
We’re looking for artists with a good understanding of anatomy, perspective, lighting, and color theory.
Art Assistants will be tasked with creating a 1-page illustration or comic. In addition, they may collaborate with a writer and create illustration(s) for their written piece.
Merch Assistants will be tasked with creating one or more merch pieces. The specific types of merch will be confirmed later.
Please provide a Google Drive folder with links to 3-5 of your artworks.
At least one artwork should contain Saeran (any version of Saeran will work, since they all have the same general appearance.)
Submitted works should be complete with colors and at least have a simple background.
We will accept traditional artwork as long as it’s scanned at 300dpi.
All works should be no older than two years old.
Writing Assistant Role & Requirements
We’re looking for writers with a good grasp on grammar, plot, pacing, and compelling prose. Writers must be able to write Unknown.
Writing Assistants will be tasked with creating a short story that does not surpass 2,500 words.
Please include 2-3 links to samples of your writing.
At least one sample should feature Unknown as a prominent character.
The samples should not exceed 10,000 words in total.
All samples should be fully written prose. (No headcanons!)
For multi-chapter fics, we will be only reading the chapter sent to us.
All works should be no older than two years old.
Design Assistant Role & Requirements
We’re looking for graphic designers with a good understanding of typography, layout design, composition and color theory.
Design assistants will be tasked with laying out the final zine. This will include working together to create a font and color palette, along with other design elements which will appear in the zine. They may also be asked to assist with the promo graphics. Design assistants should be familiar with and have access to Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.
Please provide a Google Drive link to 3-5 of your best designs.
At least one sample should be of a booklet layout.
All files submitted should be viewable on Google Drive. We will not download your file in order to view it.
Designs that fit Unknown’s aesthetic are encouraged, but not required.
All works should be no older than two years old.
*While google drive is most ideal for art, merch and design applications, if you do not have one, you can send 3-5 links to your best pieces.
Please also note that all communication will take place via Discord. All chosen assistants will be required to create a free Discord account if they already do not have one.
