Welcome to Anairë/Fingolfin day! This is a mini-fest running on December 13th, 2026.

This fest celebrates the Silmarillion characters Anairë and Fingolfin through the creation of fanworks. People can submit fanworks to be featured on the fest blog. See below instructions on how to participate:

To submit a work to the fest, please mention this blog in your post and tag it as #Anairë/Fingolfin 2026. There will also be an Ao3 collection called Anaire/Fingolfin Day 2026. This blog will reblog all submitted works.

Why Anairë/Fingolfin? Because the mod likes them and wants to spread awareness of them.

We will do things slightly differently this year and have optional prompts that people can submit and fill on Ao3 in addition to the general "theme" prompts to be posted here. That will open up in early September and there will be an announcement at that time.

This will be a fun event and we are very excited to see what people make.

Tolkien Siblings Week rides again!

Immeasurably happy to announce that Tolkien Siblings Week, your annual hub for fanworks of all types centered on all sibling sets in all Tolkien works, is returning for its second year in fall of 2026! It will be running from the same dates as last year (November 23rd-29th), and operating on the same guidelines.

In terms of logistics, optional prompts will be released on June 23rd, leaving you a bountiful five months in which to brainstorm and work your creative magic. An ao3 collection will go live in the last few weeks leading up to the event; we ask that if you plan to add to the collection, you hold back on posting your work until then (although sharing previews or snippets is just fine).

Not much to say at the moment beyond that, except that it's great to be back, and we're hoping to welcome many new faces this year among our beloved returners. In the meantime, any burning questions can be sent via the askbox, messages, or in replies. And all reblogs are of course awfully appreciated as we work to get the word out ♡

Anairë headcanons because Jirt tells us almost nothing about this beautiful woman:

Her favorite jewelry is pearls, and her favorite necklace was a gift from Earwen

She’s outgoing and extroverted and makes friends easily

Her nails are always perfect

Somehow her manicure doesn’t get in the way of her hobbies, gardening and sewing

She loves flowers and has one of the prettiest flower gardens in Tirion

She makes quilts, a skill she learned from her mom. She makes little pictures in her quilts. Like she cuts the fabric into shapes of plants and animals and people. Their house has her picture quilts on the walls.
