Theatre of the Ears is a programme exploring radio and transmission art, hosted by Andrew Jarvis. This inaugural episode features an exclusive contribution from artist Claire Tolan, VLF recordings from Todmorden and sounds from the likes of Hildegard westerkamp and Gregory Whitehead. First broadcast 7pm weds 4 MAy and repeated Thursday 7am, Saturday 7am, Tuesday 11am on Resonance Extra.  The second episode broadcasts on Wednesday 1st June, 7pm until 8pm.

Andrew Jarvis - Sprung (2015)

Sprung, is an immersive Sound Installation that explores the relationship between sound and its materials. The installation is built from multiple sound objects that reveal the inner nature and unique timbral structure of the sounding material. Assembled from a combination of constructed and found materials including Metal, springs, bowls, rock, and the flow of water in motion. The objects sound autonomously, with the interchange between the objects creating an absorbing, ever-changing, indeterminate sonic landscape. The installation invokes a primitive and ritualistic sense of connection to the materiality of sound in the objects that surround us.
