Headcanon is he's a few years my senior. The cool senior who leads well but is rarely seen outside student government activities, football, and academic ventures. He seems almost untouchable.
Then I, someone who strives for academic excellence myself, often gets into his orbit because of school activities. It's awkward at first but I imagine he says something so out of pocket and I end up laughing. He doesn't get what I find so funny but I think he IS genuinely funny without even trying. I think a fun dynamic can start from there, don't you think? :P <3

Hmm... there's so much! But if I have to pick one... it would be the time when I felt distant from him. Interests changed, nothing much was going on as far as his source material was involved. That was until a string of events happened. A con, new friends I've made, updates on the manga! I think it was roughly around the time that World Twinkle happened and new character songs rolled out. I felt like I was being courted all over again?? Man this is so cheesy, I'm sorry 😭 But yeah! That was my solid memory of one of the many times this man has pulled my attention out of the gutter and back to his arms.

I feel like between me and Ludwig, he'd be the one to hide his feelings out of fear of misunderstanding, uncertainty or thinking it's not worth anyone's time (and he's wrong). He'd usually deflect, not react, or swallow his words before having the chance to say them. He's also quite bashful so he doesn't say stuff like that so easily. He's so precious aaa ;;w;;
Selfshipping being rebranded into yumeshipping and becoming a trend should never have happened. Now it's all a popularity contest. Who has the cutest SI or OC, who has more merch and cutesy commissions. I miss it when it was just selfshipping and we were all more or less weirdos doing cringey things 🥲

Ludwig is mindful of keeping the house clean and doing chores here and there without being asked. Doing the dishes, vacuuming the carpets or rugs, taking out the trash, dusting, etc. He does this not only because he likes a clean space, but also because it helps take pressure off of you personally. To him, another way of showing love is by doing little things to make the other's life a little easier.
As for the little things he notices about you, he appreciates the way you interact and get along with his brother, Gilbert. He knows that Gilbert can be eccentric, and, well, just a lot in general. So he enjoys seeing how you're able to get along with him and be a friend.

Going hand-in-hand with what little things he notices about you, he was, and still is, attracted to how you interact with other people. Ludwig has always been socially awkward, so when the two of you first met, he was in awe at how easily you navigated social situations. You traverse even the most tense of social interactions with ease, charm, and grace. If anything, Ludwig not only found this attractive, but it was even a little intimidating at first!

Similar to his brother, Ludwig likes your figure. Ludwig isn't a superficial man, but dang does he love seeing you in outfits that flatter your figure and emphasize your most attractive features (I'll let you use your imagination on that one😏). Before the two of you started dating, he'd catch himself staring at you as you walked by.
Veronica - How loyal and devoted are they? How would they prove it to you?
Ludwig is as loyal as the day is long. Unless we're talking about him as the personification of his country, that may complicate things.
Ludwig has constructed tall, emotional walls around himself. It takes a long while for him to become truly loyal and devoted to someone who isn't in charge of him. It takes not only time, but consistent work and effort. But once you've made it past those walls? You are in.
Once truly together, Ludwig proves this devotion through actions. Particularly making it a point to protect yours and his privacy. He takes this very seriously, seeing it as a form of protection.
Yumeships where the ocs/self-inserts are obsessed with their f/os are awesome, but I think everyone should also make their f/os absolutely obsessed, genuinely down in the trenches for their ocs/self-inserts.
Like yes!!! Your f/o(s) is/are comically head over heels for you!!! Your f/o(s) yearn all day every day for you and you only!!!
(Bonus points if it's a character that seems pretty emotionless and stoic all the time but melts into a puddle over yume...)
Iris - Do they get jealous easily? When they do get jealous, how do they behave?
I'd say Ludwig doesn't get jealous too easily, but I think we all remember how he acted during the Valentine's episode.
So, yeah. Ludwig does get jealous pretty easily. This, of course, stems from some level of insecurity. He's not used to people liking him all that much, let alone someone expressing genuine romantic interest. It's all a little overwhelming for the poor guy. But exciting, too. He highly values his place in your life. So, when or if he ever feels that position is jeopardized, he gets scared. He isn't proud of it, but this fear will manifest as snapping at you or the person you're talking to. Or, to keep from snapping and therefore hurting you and embarrassing himself, he'd try to keep his mouth shut and unintentionally give you the silent treatment.
If he snaps at you, he'll be the one to apologize and talk things through. If he goes silent treatment, you'll have to sit him down and ask him what's wrong. Communication just isn't his strong suit.
Tansy - How hard would they fight for you? Are they willing to make concessions to keep you? Would they let you go for the greater good? Or are they ready and willing to let the world burn?
OH BOY this is gonna be rough. And some of you aren't going to like what I have to say.
Ludwig as the personification of Germany is extremely by-the-book. If his boss allows you a place in his life, then he's willing to do a lot for you. He cares about you deeply and wants to have a life with you. But if his boss declares you unfit for his company, and that he ought to cast you aside, he'd have little other choice than to comply. Sure, he'd argue. He'd debate, trying desperately to convince his boss why you are actually a wonderful asset, and that your company will do nothing to distract him from his responsibilities. He'd be willing to make sacrifices and concessions to keep you in his life. But at the end of the day, loyalty to country will win out. Not that he'd be happy about it. If anything, it would take him quite some time to get over letting you go.
Similar to the other Hetalia characters, Ludwig in a human AU would be far more willing to fight for you, as in this version, he wouldn't be constrained by the rules and regulations of his canon counterpart. If caught in a situation where he'd be pressured to end the relationship, he'd definitely try to use logic and reason. But if that fails, he'd fight for you tooth and nail.
