Look, I've read and enjoyed a lot of books by men, I just get... tired. This list includes a range of genres (classics, literary
So I lost my temper with all of the “books you must read before you die” “books to read to be considered well-read” lists that were like, at least 75% male, and made a different list. Obviously it’s skewed by what I’m familiar with, but I’ve tried to get it to be a broad range. Give it a go!
You know what? Fuck you *untames the shrew*

Max Dashu needs your help
Max Dashu is a prolific writer, feminist, historian-anthropologist who focuses on Womanity (the existence of matriarchal cultures in the past and present).
She is facing macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts. If you have the capacity, please donate to help save her eyes and teeth!
You can visit her gofundme for more info here.
I've gone to so many workshops and presentations by Max over the years. She helped me understand that women have our own unique history that deserves to be known. Please reblog and donate what you can.
I met Max at Michfest. She is a force for women.
becoming intolerant of bitch/pussy/cunt as casual ways of referring to an imagined opponent in a conversation will have you noticing just how ingrained casual misogyny is. so many popular posts on this site i can't/won't reblog, because their ops automatically assume that it's fun and cool to call the imagined person in their imagined scenario one of those things.
everyone. do it.
This has me curious because when I worked in the service industry I always had 1-3 trans male coworkers and plenty of trans male customers. Also as a lesbian, most lesbian/women public social events I'm going to have trans males attending as well. I'm curious how often women here are interacting with transwomen.
How often are you around transwomen (or trans males in general, nonbinary males, "amab")? Like talking to, working with, working for, in your social/family circle. Not online, but in person
socially I see transwomen daily (roommate, relative, friend)
professionally I see tw daily (coworker, regular customers, stakeholders)
on a daily basis, I see them both at work and socially
socially I'm around transwomen weekly
professionally I see transwomen weekly
weekly for both socially and at work
socially I see transwomen monthly
professionally I see transwomen monthly
monthly for both socially and professionally
I'm around transwomen less than monthly in either context
I have 2 follow up questions so only reblog with all 3 questions
Same question for transmen, nonbinary females
How often are you interacting with transmen, nonbinary females, trans "afab"?
socially I see transmen, nb females daily (roommate, family, friend)
professionally I see transmen daily (coworker, customers)
daily I interact with transmen, nb females in both settings
socially I interact with transmen weekly
professionally I interact with trans females weekly
weekly I interact with trans females both socially and professionally
socially I interact with trans females monthly
at work I interact with trans females monthly
monthly I interact with trans females in both settings
I interact with trans females less than monthly
One more question. Only reblog with all 3 questions
Last question.
What's your sexual orientation related to this question
lesbian/bi woman and I interact with trans people monthly or more often
lesbian/bi woman and I don't interact with trans people regularly
straight woman and I interact with trans people at least monthly or more often
straight woman and I don't interact with trans people that often
I often feel as a lesbian, and from interacting with straight radfems, that being in a community with trans people exposes us to trans people more but it's just anecdotal for me.
If you find any typos or mix ups in the question you get to take me out back like a rabid dog. Or just dm me. Please reblog
Something that I have noticed is I know almost nobody my age that goes to a food pantry. I know people who regularly run out of money for food and in general have to eat an unsuitable diet because that’s what they can afford and they still don’t go to a food bank, im not sure if it’s because they’re embarrassed or maybe if you didn’t grow up going you don’t know much about it but if you’re financially struggling I really recommend it. And look into other options for food assistance too like community fridges and gardens and other programs that can assist you, where I live Salvation Army pays for an allotted amount of grocery delivery for low income people every month, in the summer farmers take excess produce to the library to be taken by anyone who needs it, etc. There are a LOT of resources for free food that you can look into especially if you are literally not eating because of your financial situation
Btw if you have dietary restrictions you can often let them know and in many cases they’ll prioritize certain items for you

Food Not Bombs Global Chapter Locations (mostly vegan!)
USA - Find your local food bank
USA - Meals on Wheels free or reduced cost food delivery (age usually 60+, check your specific area's eligibility

Good thing to have on hand in the midst of food stamps issues
seeing someone comment landfillcore under a holiday decor haul a few years back permanently changed my consumption habits. what an evocative word. I think about her all the time
"I'm just a girl☺️🥰💖💞💅🌺🌷🦄" when you were eight and the teacher said she needed some strong boys to carry something you used to be furious, and when you convinced them to let you help, you carried twice as many chairs as the boys with the righteous anger of a girl who knew she was just as capable as them. Where did that go?
All online video content needs to be viewed with an important realization: it wasn't filmed by accident.
buffy and faith lesbian sex
"I don't feel that way. I think..." is a great starting point for disagreeing with people you know and handling it when your friend says something unkind and perhaps bigoted without realizing. It challenges what they said without coming across as hostile and making them defensive.
As an example, an acquaintance of mine recently told me that she would never be interested in a guy dealing with erectile dysfunction because she finds it pathetic. Instead of telling her that was an awful thing to say, I said, "I don't feel that way. I think it's understandable and human that our bodies are inconsistent and that some functions don't always work. There are lots of fun ways to have sex that don't require an erection and there are plenty of ways my body struggles too."
I really recommend it, because it can get people to actually use some introspection, or at least avoids escalating conflict even if they don't agree!
