Are you planning on posting a cycle to rank in future?
Geezus it’s been ages since the last cycle I’ve posted. My good judy depression sneaked back in and I never got back to work since then.
Sometimes I consider doing rankings again, but I have to find time for it (and also get familiar again with the tumblr mechanics, Im so bad at social media).
Who do you think should’ve one Asntm cycle 6? Or are were you satisfied with Dana’s unexpected victory?
It’s between Mia and Jachin for me. Mia has undeniable model presence, great body and a killer walk, but Jachin crushed everyone else in terms of portfolio (they really randomly kicked her out because they couldnt justify their favourite winning against her in the finale).
Beauty is another solid option, as she captures the very essence of NTM: the diamond in the rough with immense potential and growth, normal girl turned into a supermodel.
As for Dana… Let’s say she was there and her victory happened :)

My boyfriend didn’t go to university until he was 28 because he didn’t feel anywhere near ready when he was 18. He graduated with first-class honours, went on to do a Masters, and is now a history teacher. It’s so much more important to do things when you’re able to fully commit to them and do them to the best of your ability than to rush to do them by an imaginary deadline.
For those who are still there, these are words of wisdom
01. Beauty’s giant shot
I still do not understand to this day how this wasn’t awarded first call out at panel. This photograph is magnificent, the pose is utter perfection and makes her body look banging. Just look at those legs ! I can’t get over how gorgeous they are. This shot should have sealed Beauty’s spot in the final 3, as I believe it’s hands down the best photo to come out from this cycle of AsNTM.
02. Top 5’s Subaru fashion film
I’m glad we got to see this film before the end of the cycle, otherwise the ending of this cycle would have been a complete disapointment from start to finish. Every girl managed to do great, and the styling was badass as hell. But if I fell in love with nearly every frame, I gotta say that Mia was the real stand out amongst the other girl’s amazing performances. Her walking section gave me chill and she really own her leading role. Also, special mention to Dana who did particularly well, and had this way at least one stand out moment in the whole cycle. All in all, this fashion film was one of the powerful moments from this cycle.
03. Adela’s Subaru ad
I wasn’t expecting to like such a commercial brief that much but the photography and styling were great, so with Adela bringing her A game to the table, it made for an amazing picture. The motion of walking was so perfectly executed, and the attitude she’s serving is to die for.
04. Beauty and Rubini’s swan lake shot
Ok, it’s now time to clarify how this picture ended up above Jachin’s. Beauty got 5th call out from me for her two performances, but it was because one being really bad and the other -this one- being absolutely stellar. Plus, Rubini looks really good, while Beauty looks busted in Jachin’s photo. The way she’s commanding attention here is breathtaking, she has such a supermodel presence, and is shining right through the overwhelming styling. The simplicity of her pose only makes it work fabulously and makes her stand out even more.
05. Mia’s reptile shot
This was the photo that made me pay attention to Mia in the first place. This shoot had so many bland and vacant results, but here Mia is burning through the lens with her eyes (and she never failed to brought that intensity out throughout the whole season). It made her one of the standouts from the early stage of the competition.
06. Jachin and Beauty’s swan lake shot
I’m just realizing I have 3 Jachin’s photo in a row. Anyway, arranging the two photos from this shoot I put in that list (yup, that was a spoiler) was a bit complicated since it was a group performance. Alone, Jachin would have had the photo of the cycle, easily. But since Beauty looks a bit busted and out of place, it brings the quality of the photo down. Still, it wasn’t enough to kick it out of my top 10, as Jachin look absolutely ethearal and gorgeous. She totally deserved her first call out for this picture.
I am still surprised Mia did not win, she got first call outs on the two subaru photoshoots, who is clearly the biggest client... but the bias was too real, just like Maureen and Tawan.
To be honest, I wasn’t that surprised she didn’t win. She did was the clear favourite of the subaru client, but the judges seemed to hate on her, especially Cindy. I’ve been taking a look at the whole scoring through the cycle to prepare my ranking and noticed that she consistently gave her lower scores. Plus, with her edit in the first half of the cycle, it seemed impossible to have a Mia win, it’s like they really tried hard to antagonize her. I’d even say that she was kept until the finale just because she was the client’s favourite.As for the bias your talking about, I did not watch cycle 4 yet but I found the bias for Dana to be even more obvious than Maureen’s. Anyway, I’ll detail this in my final rankings, thanks for the question!
07. Jachin’s Estetica beauty shot
Dana receiving first call out over this picture was a clear proof of the judges’ bias towards her (and don’t even get me started with her second first call out...). Jachin looks radiant and relatable here, which is perfect for the brand. I’m also finding myself thinking about a classic cover girl picture from ANTM when looking at this one, and it’s easy to see why.
08. Jachin’s reptile shot
Jachin proved from the very start that she was a model to watch in this competition. I see all the ingredients of a successful photograph here : strong body language, strong expression, items being sold efficiently, everything works.
09. Rubini’s reptile shot
Rubini had one of the better looks from this entire cast, and it never translated in a photo as well as it did in this photograph. There is a sultriness and ferocity in her eyes being blend together that I adore, and the straight on angle allows me to appreciate the beauty of her face.
