A guy gets isekae'd to a fantasy world and it's completely disconnected from our own world, like no shared history.
Except.
Words keep popping up. Someone mentions a "French braid", and he's like "a what braid? Where did you hear about France?" and no one seems to know the etymology. He gets in some minor trouble for assaulting a bard who can't explain where he heard Old Town Road.
The local Duke shows off his new portrait and it's somehow AI generated? And still painted?
He's going slowly mad trying to figure out why there's our-world references leaking into this fantasy world. Is there someone else who is isekai'd here? Is there a portal between here and earth? A wizard who can travel back and forth? What the fuck is going on?
He falls to his knees sobbing in the street when he sees a poster for a play being put on in the Capitol city. It's called "War of the Stars" and it's about Lucas the Sky Walker who is given a holy sword to fight the Black Knight who never removes his armor, and he rescues a beautiful princess from a hidden fortress with the assistance of a wizard mentor, a traveling merchant, and his werewolf companion.

Orion the Bounty Hunter
Synopsis: Orion is a bounty hunter hired by the king of Malamut to kill someone resurrecting the dead. A favored prince and his knight volunteered to help her with her work—and the king agreed before Orion could argue against it. Together, the three meet a wandering bard and set out to eliminate the undead threat to the kingdom.

love me a character who values hygiene and cleanliness but must, for plot reasons, inevitably become bloodsoaked
also a big fan of characters who aim to live a lifestyle of comfort and hedonism, but due to the Narrative are forced to go camping
characters who desire nothing more than to stay home & chill but are thrust unwillingly into adventure, my beloved
love and adoration for fussy characters resentfully forced to evacuate their comfort zone. the Call to Adventure is battering down their door and fine! fine they'll do it! they'll venture forth! but dear stars will they gripe about it

I feel like what the world needs aren't messages like "do your best and all your dreams will come true!" but rather "no matter your success, you can still be happy!"
we need more media telling us it's okay to fail. that most of us fail. that trying your best and not succeeding doesn't mean you effort was wasted. that you don't need to always try your best for everything. do what you can, when you can, and realize that no matter how things turn out, you can still find a way to be happy day to day. dreams come and go, it's okay to miss your catch and watch them pass by or change into something else entirely.
life is always full of opportunities to be happy!

Trying to play Monster Hunter: Rise and SOMEONE could not stand not getting attention and was repeatedly scaling me with her sharp feet and launching herself from furniture until I put her big soft blanket in my lap and pet her.
At least she's sitting where I can see the screen. She's also sitting where she can bite my fingers while I play. The monhunt experience was not supposed to be this realistic...
