The beeping sounded so faint in her ears though she could feel the steady vibration of her glucose monitor warning her of critically low levels and an insufficient supply of a life-saving drug she should have taken more care to ensure she had. When the alarm had initially sounded Pandora realized that in her rush to become settled in Athos that she had allowed her health to rather dangerously fall by the wayside. Under the cover of night she had slipped away from Omerta with non-counterfeit funds stolen from her father, a crime that would hopefully be her last, stashed away to safeguard her financial security. She had struggled in finding a job and a place to stay, becoming consumed with the desire to be away from a place that had only ever been a nuisance to her and forgetting about herself in the process. Weakness overcame her. Her vision blurred and blackened as her body met painfully with the cool marble floors of the Athosian Royal Library.
When finally she awoke it was to a different beeping. Her eyes wandered the room, taking in the pristine whiteness of it all as she pulled the provided blanket more tightly against herself to fight off the chill in the air. On the wall opposite her was a board detailing her admission. As she read through it a knock sounded at the door just before swinging open. The last thing she had expected to see was a familiar face. Especially not the face of one of the Banshees. "Aurora?" she questioned, shuffling to sit upright and make sure that she wasn't merely dreaming the other woman's presence.
