Student Spotlight: Sarah Viggers
As we engage in the last half of this semester, we would like to honor our faithful student workers at the bookstore. Day after day they come in to set up new merchandise, help people find what they are looking for, and keep smiles on our faces because we love them so dearly!
So as we begin our first student worker spotlight we would like you to remember the people who keep this university running how it should. They're awesome!
Without further ado, we present to you: Sarah Viggers!
Sarah is a sophomore math major and commutes here from her home in La Verne, Calif. She has been working at the bookstore for a little over a year and calls it her "homebase" since she is a commuter.
While taking 17 units and having a part-time job, she is an indoor youth soccer coach of a tough group of girls that go by the team name of "The Rolling Thunder." Along with coaching, she also takes time to play on a team called, the "Alaska Bullworms". If her team name doesn't suggest her spontaneous fun-loving nature than you obviously haven't been to Alaska and hung out with a couple of Bullworms. They're great :)
Another fun hobby she keeps herself occupied with is Mountain Biking! Whaaaat?! Oh yea, and she is a sponsored rider. She has had her share of injuries from it and the worst actually came during her first ride ever. She ended up breaking her pelvis, but she healed up and got back out there. Good for you Sarah! That sounds incredibly intense and you are way cooler because of it.
Now it's time for a few serious questions that must be answered. It took a lot of though and soul searching but Sarah did eventually come to an answer for them each.
1. If there was a zombie apocalypse where would you go first?
Answer: A gadget/weapon store right away to get the goods!
2. If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Answer: Teleportation, because of the ability to go anywhere you wanted to go. (Wise choice for an extreme sport athlete. Once you start to fall, BAM! you are now in a sun chair in Hawaii sipping juice out of a coconut with one of those little umbrellas in it.)
3. Her guilty pleasure movie:
Answer: "There's more to life than being really, really ridiculously good looking." -Derek Zoolander
Sarah's dreams and aspirations are to become a high school math teacher who rides on her mountain bike on the weekend. Sounds like a pretty cool teacher if you ask us!
Well, there you have it. You got to read a little about the life of Sarah VIggers, one of the bookstore's best student workers! Keep your eyes out for another spotlight post!
