Artist interview: Muna Altamimi
Muna is a Kuwaiti artist she teaches in the art academy in Kuwait. Which is the same collage she graduated from. After getting her bachelor degree, she got her masters then her doctorate. She had always been talented and into art from a very younge age.
Muna is very into surrealism art which is what her art works are, mainly.
Her choosing art as a major and a job played a huge part in the development of her art work and her ethic as an artist.
This art show is muna’s second time participating in an event outside of Kuwait.
Artist interview: Zahraa Alaradi
Zahraa Alaradi is a Kuwaiti artist (born and raised in Kuwait).
Zahraa showed an interest in art at such a young age, whern she was only 5 in kindergarten the people around Zahraa started to notice that she wasn’t an ordinary kid but a very talented little girl with so much potential. Zahraa also thinks that childhood is very important stage for artist and parent must pay attention to their children and what they have to offer so they can help with growing those talents and show their support.
As she grew older she slowly started to develop her own art style the wat she drew woman, which she mainly drew feminine figures, birds and everything that radiated happiness and life. In highschool her art style gained attention from her classmates as well as the art teachers which gave her a boost of confidence in her self.
She then decided to major in arts, and the professors in university fell for her style and techniques. Having her own art style that gives out a certain energy for the viewers really made zahraa stand out as an artist.
She started participating in art galleries since 2012 in Kuwait.
The hardest thing she faces as an artist is getting art block, and the inconssistancy in motivation which every artsist faces every now and then and the way she deals with this is by sketching even if you don’t feel like it.
Zahraa has a very positive and kind energy, she seemed like a sweet soul and you can very clearly see that through her art.

(whole interview was too long to fit)
Artist interview: Amna Haleem Groof
Amna grew up around many artist in her family, her father was mostly the person who influenced her and supported her he also was like a mentor since he was an artist himself. In middle school her father saw her art project and was amazed by her talent and began to support her and help her find her own art style and technique.
In high school she started to get into abstract art, which first started as a favor for a family business and developed into a career. Amna gained so much love from people in the community and started to participate in art exhibitions and events in late 2018.
Amna is forever thankful for her father and his unconditional support for her.
She thinks the way she had been brought up did affect her and her view on art, her father had always believed in her and sees something very big in her future.

Art exhibition: art show-Bahrain bay
I visited an art show held in Bahrain bay with two of my colleagues that welcomed around 49 artists (Bahrainis and none Bahrainis) . The location of this art show was perfect, the whole event was very well organized. Even though the show room itself didn’t fit all the pieces well which made the show look a little cluttered and it made it hard to admire the pieces without getting distracted by the other pieces beside them.
Regardless of that, the show had many amazing talented artists and im so happy that I got to see all their amazing work, not only that, but I also got the chance to meet some of them and have a chat with them and interview some as well.
Overall, this art show was successful and filled with positive and happy energy im very happy I got the chance to attend this event.
Art Exhibition visit; Bahrain annual fine art exhibition
This year the annual Bahrain exhibition held its 48th exhibition, and hosted several artworks by nearly 60 Bahraini artists.the exhibition displayed variety of art styles, you’ll find sculptures, oil paintings, watercolor paintings, acrylic paintings, video installation photographs and so much more.
the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities were gathering votes of the audience to give out an award for the artists that get most number of votes will receive the award that will be announced towards the end of the exhibition. And there’s this voting station where you can vote for your favorite artwork.
I love the variety of different art styles and types in this exhibition, everything was so well organized, we were also handed a catalogue that had all the artist who participated in this exhibition along with there art work and a bar code to scan if you like to know more about the art piece, which I appreciated very much.
Its really nice to see Bahraini artists celebrated all in one place and be able to appreacite their work and support them. I loved the atmosphere of the place and how quiet it is, it gives you the chance to admire the pieces in a calm and peaceful place.

logo design analysis: air bnb
Airbnb logo is very creative and smart it cobunes many elements related to the company all in one logo (The teardrop shape at the center of the symbol is meant to be a person's head, This same teardrop shape is also meant to represent the shape of a location icon – a symbol that people associate with travel and destinations.) that’s demonstrated very nicely and creatively. Whilst still looks very minimal and clean. I think this logo is very strong and well designed and a lot of thought and effort has been put through it.

Logo design analysis: Mtv
The Mtv logo has to be one of my absolute favorite logos out there. The way they had built a whole brand and an identity for the channel that is mainly connected to the logo is very bazaar to me as It is difficult to make a logo be this recognizable and effective and leave such a big impact on the audience regardless of its inconsistency in color/pattern or style but, exactly that is what made this logo as successful as we know it to be today.
Even though the channel faced a huge decline in its popularity in the recent years it still kept its footprint and the logo is still widely known till this very day.

Commercial analysis: Hamburg restaurant.
This burger advertisement is inspired by the beatles album cover. The Beatles were a famous English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. The concept of this ad is very creative and fun however there are a few things that could be improved. I feel like the legs could’ve been illustrated better and maybe they could change the shoes from one burger. They also could’ve used effects to make it look more vintage since its inspired by a 1960’s band, that would make it far more interesting in my opinion.
Commercial analysis: vaseline.
This Vaseline advertisement really caught my attention and gained my interest the second I layed eyes on it. They used old paintings from what seems like the renaissance era, where the paint in the paintings is cracked (since its too old) but the cracks gets healed by applying Vaseline which applies the idea that Vaseline is an excellent moisturizer.
I am absolutely in love with this advertisement its very creative and different from other ads for similar products. Its definetly an interesting and smart way of advertising such product.

Commercial analysis; Floslek sunscreen.
This sunscreen commercial has to be one of the most creative sun screen ads I have ever seen. Its very visually pleasing to the eye. And the use of metaphor here is very smart. Its as if the sunscreen is shading the people at the beach and protecting them from the sun which is exactly what sun screen is meant to do. Over all I think this advertisement is excellent on so many levels, its layout is perfect the use of metaphor is excellent, the contrast is applied nicely and its very easy on the eyes and its nice to look at.

Assignment 6:
I had chosen contrast as my design principle, and wanted to create a logo using this principle. I created a donut shop logo that reads “bob’s doughnuts” the logo is in black except for the O in bob. I had changed the o to a donut which is shape contrast and is also considered to be emphasis. The donut itself in my design has contrast within it bwtween the blue and white sprinkles.
assignment 5:
the redesign assignment was probably my favorite out of all the assignments we did throughout this course. I had so much fun working on it and analyzing different logos before choosing one of them to re-design.
I chose the starbucks logo for many reasons; its very outdated, there are many many details in the logo, has no relation to coffee and the font could be improved. And then turned it into something more minimal and related to coffee while still keeping the signature color and the crown.

Assignment 4r: For assignment 4, i started by taking a picture of a glass of water in my hand. Then uploaded the picture to illustrator and starting drawing and illustrating on it. I first started by creating the cloud with the rain drops that are dropping in my cup of water and then added the fish inside the cup.the idea here is using the cup in my hand as a metaphor of the ocean where fish live and rain drops .

Assignment 3:
For this assignment, i had the idea to create a comb and instead of (what might be refered to as..) the teeth of the comb i insterted the bar code in its place. where it still looks and gives the illusion of the teeth of the comb. i created it by using adobe illustrator on an A4 sized document. i first started by created the lines for the bar code which i found was the easiest part i the started drawing the comb using the pen tool, and lastly added details and chose the colors then typed out the numbers under the barcode.

Assignment 2:
For this assignment, we had to use a metaphor inside the text of any word we choose. I had a lot of ideas in mind for this assignment but wanted to do something that wouldn’t be overly done by other students.
I began by typing the word “candle” on illustrator. And then illustrated the candle which I then replaced with the letter L. I added a bit of details with white cause I wanted it to stay minimal but still easily understandable for the viewer.
