Remus had been moving through the ministry, looking for one particular person to ask a couple questions. It was the question that the person he was looking for asked that brought him to a pause. “I was actually looking for you.” He replied with a small smile. “I have some questions about some muggle artifacts. Have a research job that’s bringing me to search them out a little bit.” 

It wasn’t often that people actually came looking for him thus as he heard the words fall from Remus’ mouth Arthur wasn’t able to hide the shock nor the smile that spread across his face. “Why I’m happy to help you with whatever you need.” He assured nodding for the bloke to take a seat as he leaned forward to listen to whatever came next. “How can I help you?”

Having five kids to get ready for Halloween and being pregnant with the sixth, Molly was fighting to keep her cool. While she had been planning for the night, she also felt like the night had shown up out of no where. Luckily the older boys were able to get into their costumes on their own, only needing a couple tweaks from their mum as the proudly showed up at their younger brothers door to show her. However, it was the sound of her husbands voice and the cheering of their sons that brought a big smile to her face. “Oh thank Merlin you’re home. I didn’t know if I’d be able to finish up by the time Halloween was over.” She joked, laughing a little. “Do you mind getting the twins in their costumes while I finish up getting Percy ready?” She asked, moving to grab the next piece of her sons costume. 

“I’m happy to help.” Arthur assured as it was the majority of the reason that he had insisted on needing to leave the Ministry on time. The files of cases could wait another day, here is where he was needed and there was no way that he was going to miss Halloween with the boys. “Come on, ya rugrats.” He murmured scooping Fred and George each under an arm before taking them from the room so that he could focus on them while Molly focused on Percy. Walking into the twin’s newly built room he grabbed for the outfits that were hanging up and ready to be put on, busying himself with changing them, while using the moment to also change their diapers so that they wouldn’t have to do so while out in Hogsmede. Once the twins were done he released them and turned to look at the older boys, “And what are you guys supposed to be?” He questioned looking them over as he did so.

Walking through the door of The Burrow he was almost proud that he had been able to leave on time, knowing that Molly was going to need some help getting the boys into their costumes. The evening would be spent taking the boys to play games, get some candy before bringing them home to wash them up and get them into bed right on time. “Is everyone ready for a night of fun?” Arthur called out knowing that he was lucky to have been able to sneak into the house undetected thus far.

Halloween morning was spent at his desk, working through the paperwork with a tall cup of coffee. He’d been so enthused that he almost hadn’t noticed the person standing in his doorway. “Are you lost or do you need something from me?” Arthur questioned with a nod of his head to the seat in his office meant for people visiting.

Molly did try to run a bit of a tight ship in her home, but she never wanted it to seem like she had to approve all the decisions or anything. She just wanted to make sure everything flowed properly and that the house worked well. It was important for them to be able to live in the house like normal, even with the additions. “I think that’s a brilliant idea!” She replied with a bright smile. The idea of expanding the house just seemed like a task she really didn’t want to think about tackling, but maybe it wouldn’t be as hard as she thought. “It’s going to be so weird to see our house so tall, but I think Bill and Charlie are going to love living further up.” She commented. 

“I can see that.” She teased a little bit, giving him a small nudge as she looked back over the plans. “Who are you thinking about having come and help?” Molly knew that she wouldn’t be able to thank whoever helped them enough, but she would probably bake them enough food to last them a couple years. Giving a small smile, she shook her head and waved off his comment. “Don’t worry about me. I can keep this house running like normal easily.” She thought for a moment. “Besides, it’s not like either of our parents wouldn’t be willing to let the boys stay with them for a few days. Although, maybe we could split it up between both.” She thought to herself, expression showing her in thought. “My point being, we can always work around it. And even if they stay with us, there are ways to make it work.” 

There was a breath of relief as his wife agreed with his idea of building up versus building out. “I think the boys will really like it.” Arthur agreed knowing full well that they were going to love the idea of having their own rooms finally. “I can also look into building the twins new beds so that we can get a crib ready for the next one. They’re practically joined at the hip as it is so I figured keeping them in the same room would be the best plan.” His fingers pointing at each of the rooms that he was thinking of adding on and the purpose of them. “And if we wanted to do we could look at expanding our room some more if you’d rather keep the baby in with us for as long as possible.” He offered looking back at his wife for the direction that she wanted things to take. “I can see about Frank and possibly Kingsley.  I don’t want to interrupt their lives too much but I was hoping that having help would make this all go a little faster.” Arthur explained knowing that the last thing he needed was to think he could handle all of this on his own and disrupt the lives of his children and wife longer than necessary. “Ah, it’s my job to worry about you. I think you forget that dear.” He offered with a small smile as his head nodded in agreement. “We can definitely look at asking our parents for help. It’ll probably help to not have the boys in a construction zone.” But she was right that if they had to make it all work with the boys there then they would.

Frank could understand a parents want to see their kids become well rounded people, who aren’t afraid to try new things or accept what makes everyone different. “Honestly, me either.” He replied with a laugh, a small content sigh falling from his lips. If there was anything Frank was sure of when he started to reach the end of his time at Hogwarts, it was that his future was going to include him as an Auror and married to Alice. There was a reason the two of them worked so well, he was able to calm  her and was pulling that passion from him. People who seemed to fit like puzzle pieces. “I don’t think anyone would’ve been able to handle her as long as I have.” Frank paused a moment. “But I also I don’t think anyone would’ve appreciated it like I do. I know some people just see the storm, but there is so much more to her. Could imagine myself with anyone else.” Alice was the person he was going to spend the rest of his life with, and now start a family with. “I can’t imagine what that excitement feels like. I would believe that it holds the same kind of worry and excitement every time. How’s Molly feeling?” He asked, always wanting to know more about the people around him. Hearing the question, Frank’s smile grew a little bit and he looked down at his food for a moment before nodding his head. “Number one seems to be in the works now. Surprised the shit out of me to hear Alice say she wanted a baby, but I guess something just made her change her mind.” He shrugged lightly. 

Arthur’s head nodded in agreement with the sentiments that Frank had on no one being able to handle or appreciate Alice to the level that his friend did. “You speak nothing but the truth. She is very lucky to have you but just as so you’re lucky to have her.” A thought that Arthur had when it came to his own wife, just how lucky he was to have her and how lucky he was that she was willing to put up with his insanity. “Honestly, she’s the same strong person she’s always been. I do think that there’s a little bit of reservation just because of the add-on we’re going to need to do to the house. She almost didn’t think we were ready but after she found out we were having another she was ready to go.” He explained eyes on the field in front of him watching the people flying in front of them. However, it was as Frank spoke that his head turned unable to stop his jaw from dropping, “Holy shite.” His filter was suddenly gone for a moment, as his mouth closed a smile was forming. “That’s amazing. Fingers crossed that everything continues in that trend then.”

Her uncle made up too much ice cream, however Alice knew exactly who to take it too. Pushing to the Weasley house the auror wanted to stop by to say hello, she had been gone for a while and wanted to see however was doing. She walked in and called out. “hello! it’s alice, I’ve brought some treats for ya!”

There was a nod of his head as he noted that the kids were running as soon as the voice had spoken. “Alice, come on in, make yourself at home.” Arthur assured as he continued stuffing toys in a box for the sake of making the place look more put together than it actually was. “You know that we always welcome your company without the treats... but that being said it looks like you’ve officially replaced me as the boys favorite.” A snort as Arthur spoke moving to help Alice get into the door and more into the home.

He’d been working on cleaning the living room for what felt like all day for each time that he’d finished one section it was like the toys were back out the second he was done with the next. The knock on the door would have alerted him if he hadn’t known for a fact that the spells along the barrier were keeping people out as they were supposed to. “Come on in.” Arthur called out, toys tossing into the basket with practiced ease as he made his way forward to see who’d stopped by for a visit.

Marcel had one of those examples of a father that wasn’t necessarily a bad one, but it also was far from a good one. If something was happening to his child, there was no way for him to just be able let it happen. “Sixth baby? Wow, I’m freaking out at one. Can’t imagine that many.” He replied, shaking his head a little bit. Marcel actually laughed with Arthur, honestly a little surprised that he felt so calm in this whole conversation. “Do you think it’s easier to have boys? I mean, I’m sure kids are scary no matter what the gender is, but I’m seriously freaking a bit over the fact that it’s a little girl. Even helping to take care of Marlene when we were younger I don’t think prepared me for all of this.” Marcel was more than happy to care for his sister, but he wasn’t fully in charge of her, this child he would be. “Thanks for the advice Arthur. Honestly.” Marcel knew sometimes he came off a little negative, but he was grateful for Arthur right now. 

“Listen, once you survive that first one, you’ll be confident in handling the next one.” Or sometimes when you got really comfortable life would throw a curveball--one in his case that he fondly called Fred and George. At the question, Arthur couldn’t stop the laugh as his head shook looking over at Marcel, “Listen, I say this meaning the best that I can, I have six children and I wouldn’t trade places with you for anything. The most terrifying thing to me is the thought of a girl. I mean, you know what us boys are like.” The words were spoken truthful but not in the manner as to try and scare Marcel. “All I know is that every time I find out it’s a boy I feel a little more certain that I know what I’m doing when the time comes for that kid to come into the world.” Advice had never been something that came easily from Arthur, especially when it was about fatherhood. Things were different with each person but he could only hope that Marcel was even the smallest but comforted by what he had shared. “Anytime. And I know that we haven’t really spent much time together but I hope you know that if you need anything you’d best not hesitate to give me a call. Molly and I are happy to help.”

Pretty much everyone who knew Arthur and Molly, and wanted kids of their own, wished they do as well as those two. Frank himself, when thinking of becoming a father, figured he’d be going to Arthur for some advice, hoping the older male could help him in those aspects he was lacking. “Well, I can see that though. Just wanting him to try new things and such. Or help give you some even numbers during quidditch.” Frank teased a bit with a nod of his head. “Who knows if I would’ve ever became an auror if I stayed at home reading a book! I mean, I’m sure I would’ve just might’ve approached it differently.” He commented, laughing a bit at the thought. Frank honestly couldn’t think of another profession he would’ve wanted other than being an auror. It had always been what he planned, no real deviating. Hearing Arthur’s news, Frank had a look of surprise of his face for a moment before his smile grew. “That’s amazing, Mate! Congrats. How are you feeling about it? It’s… Number six, right?” 

A nod of his head, glad that Frank had understood that while there was nothing he would have changed about any of his children it was more of the hope that he would see them try something new. No one ever grew by staying in the same place for too long. While Arthur didn’t push, instead he just tried to encourage the best out of all his children. “Please, I can’t see you doing anything other than being an Auror.” His head shaking at the thought of it alone, unable to stop the small chuckle that passed his lips. “Just as there was no one better suited for you than Alice.” A fact he was certain that everyone would have backed him up on saying. “Thank you. I’m more excited and nervous than I care to admit. You’d think I’d be used to this by now but honestly, it’s just like the first time all over again.” Arthur’s head nodded at the question. “Lucky number six.” Pausing for a moment to pay attention to what was going on in front of them he glanced back with a raised brow. “What about you? Any plans for number one in the works?”

When Molly found out she was pregnant with their sixth child, she was a little excited at first, knowing that there would be another little one for her to love, but she still had her concerns. There house was already pretty full already and soon there would be another baby, who would grow into another toddler, and then a child taking over the house. She didn’t even want to think about the fact that they were so deep in this war that no one could see a sign of it stopping. Now she just hoped she would be able to keep six kids out of danger. 

Noticing Arthur working on something, Molly had quietly moved up next to him, looking over whatever he had drawn on the paper. She felt a little surprised to see their expansion going up, but it made sense the more that she thought about it. Actually saved them more room on the ground level. “Hmm,” She hummed, moving a little closer so she could get a good look at it. “I think I like it. Might be a little odd to see our house so high at first, but it honestly makes more sense to me.” She commented, nod of her head as her hands moved over the plans. “A week? Well, that’s certainly optimistic, but maybe if we can keep the boys away for a few days, we might be able to get it all done.” She replied, looking back at her husband. 

There was no chance of anything happening to the home without the okay from Molly. That much he was sure of even before he’d begun drawing plans, even if he had to write things out a hundred times nothing would happen without her blessing. Thus, when she agreed with what he had worked out so far there was a breath of relief from Arthur, his smile growing as she spoke. “Honestly, it just sort of came to me, I figure we could put the older kids up on the higher level so that the little ones are closer to us. It’ll give the boys some privacy as they get older. Not to mention as you said, we’ll save the outside that we use so much of.” Arthur had always been a fan of the large yard that they had as it was truly a bonus with the number of children they had and the things they liked to do.

“I’ve got my optimistic attitude going. I’d say with a little help and a lot of magic to assist us that a week can be completely doable.” His head nodding as he turned to get a proper look at his wife before continuing. “I know how much this will inconvenience you and I’d like to see it as quick and painless as possible.” Arthur admitted knowing that she’d like to assure him that he didn’t need to worry about her. But it was his job too. “On top of that, I’d hate to see the routine that you have the boys on thrown off for too long.” There was also the small fact that there was no telling what could go wrong around them that would throw a wrench in a plan that took too long to put into motion--a worry that Arthur didn’t dare speak aloud.

While it took a lot for Marcel to truly respect someone, he nothing but for the man sitting next to him and his wife. The few times he had seen the boys, they looked nothing but happy. He wanted his daughter to have a life like that. A life where she got to be a kid and that was all she had to worry about. Just enjoy getting to play and learn and live, only worrying about the typical stuff kids worried about. Listening to Arthur, Marcel couldn’t help but nod his head a bit. While Arthur didn’t know what Marcel was thinking about specifically, he still appreciated the words. It was obvious where his mother had gone wrong, he also learned from his father. As well, Marcel and Emmeline weren’t anything like his parents, and maybe their daughter would come out okay. “Thank you, Arthur. I think this situation is just something that’s throwing me off for multiple reasons. I’m honestly kind of scared to be a parent, and freaked out by how much it’s freaking me out.” He paused a moment before looking to Arthur once more. “Does that make sense?” He asked with a slight laugh. 

He nodded his head at the words spoken, understanding truly better than anyone what Marcel was saying. “Honestly mate, between you and I, Molly just told me we’re expecting another child. Our sixth baby.” The last words were spoken as though shock was settling in on his chest. “And let me tell you something, I’m just as scared and nervous as I was when we found out we were going to have Bill. Kids are downright scary--hell, if you weren’t scared I would have said that you weren’t doing something right.” A small laugh as he spoke before waving a hand to brush the laughter away. “But let me tell you, the first time that baby looks at you, the first time those tiny fingers wrap around one of yours, everything you’re feeling is going to melt away.” Arthur gave a small smile as he recalled the feeling himself before shrugging. “You’re gonna be a great father, you’ve just got to trust your instincts. Trust yourself.”

Sometimes it was hard to break away from everything, not wanting to be caught off guard, but they all knew it was necessary for them to survive. While it was important to keep people safe, that also mean keeping themselves from loosing who they were outside of it all. “Hmm, indeed. At least we know those two can handle themselves.” He commented with a soft smile. With Alice’s strong fight and Molly’s ability to help defend people, those two probably couldn’t find a situation they didn’t know how to handle. Listening to Arthur, Frank snacked on his food a little bit, even taking some sips from his drink. “Really? Well, having a genius in the family is always a good thing. Pretty sure my mum would’ve loved if I read more as a kid. I was usually out running around with my friends. Had to fight me to get inside.” Frank joked a bit, nodding his head. Hearing Arthur’s words, his brow quirked a little bit and Frank looked back to Arthur. “Or really? How is that?” 

It was no secret to anyone the hopes and dreams that Arthur had for his children since he’d first become a father and each child began showing their own personality it was easy to imagine what they might become. But he had also learned that anything was possible and didn’t string anything cement on his dreams. It would be nice to see Percy in some position where he got to use his thirst for knowledge but hell, Arthur would be happy with him working as a barkeep if the boy was happy. “I’d love to get him on a broom and out of his books.” Arthur admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. “But if he’s happy reading then I’m happy for him. I’m sure your mom would say the same, look how you turned out.” The father spoke sure that he didn’t have to tell Frank anything of that but still feeling the need to say it. “Well, Molly just found out a few days ago that we’re going to have another kid.”

Sybill snorted out a laugh. “Deal with you?” She shakes her head, “Arthur, have you ever met an auror?” Her tone is light and teasing, “bursting in here to demand I rush through the forwarding paperwork so they can do their latest mission whilst at the same time constantly handing end of mission paperwork in late because ‘signing things isn’t part of the job description’. You, my darling, are a cakewalk.” She shrugs, “I don’t know why I’m trying to fight you on this though, I’ll take the brownies.”

There was an appreciative laugh as he should have been used to Sybill’s humor but now and yet hearing her make a joke was always capable of making him double over. “Of course I have, why do you think I seek out people like Amelia and Kingsley instead of Parkinson or Moody, no offense to them.” Arthur had always liked to keep Auror’s on his good side as he needed them for night missions but they were also capable of being the most difficult people, likely thanks to their career. “Whatever I can do to make your life easier.” He admitted before standing from the seat that he was in with a nod of his head. “I’ll see what I can do about sweet-talking Molly then.”

The prospect of making plans to expand their home had always been something that Arthur would be willing to do. They had done so much already from the little place they’d once had, including purchasing the land around them and making it into a field for the kids to play in and a garden for Molly. Now as they were bringing another Weasley into the fold it was only right they had a place to sleep. An outward expansion of the home was doable but it would mean that they lost yard that they needed for projects and gatherings they liked to host. This left Arthur to believe the only way to go was up.

With parchment in front of him and mind at work, he began scribbling, almost unaware of his wife hovering over his shoulder until he was nearly finished. Glancing up at her in an attempt to gauge her reaction Arthur moved so she could get a better look over everything he was brainstorming. “What do you think, love?” The question offered as there would be no starting anything until he had the final thumbs up from the woman of the house. “I’d say you and I could have this done in a little under a week.” Though if he was able to rope in Frank’s help that time would likely be cut in half.

Marcel could appreciate Arthur’s honestly, and what he assumed was a bit of humility. Everyone knew that Arthur and Molly could be award winning parents with how well they handled everything. “I can only imagine Molly made a great mum from the start.” Marcel was used to Molly mothering him now, making him happy to know those boys had two wonderful parents. “Is it that simple? Honestly don’t know if I could believe that.” He joked, but still finding truth in his words. Marcel had learned that nothing was as simple as it seemed, everything had some sort of complexity tied to it, but maybe Arthur knew something he didn’t. At the other mans question, Marcel finished the drink he had in front of him before sighing, trying to find the simplest way to answer. “I don’t want to end up like my parents. I just…” he paused. “I just want my daughter to have a happy and healthy life. I’d like her to be one of those lucky ones who grows up with no emotional damage from her family.” His words were simple, but also showed his worry, showed his fear. Marcel had emotional stunted by his mother’s actions against him, and his father lack of action against her. He couldn’t imagine that for his daughter. He would do whatever it took in order to keep that from happening. 

“Molly was.” Arthur echoed knowing that he likely didn’t have to tell anyone that bit of information, anyone with eyes could see what a natural Molly was at mothering. While there was nothing that he would be able to say to assure Marcel of anything, he truly wished that there was more advice that he could offer the man to give him a piece of mind. Marcel would learn that soon enough. Parenthood wasn’t easy but there was something about holding your child the first time that caused all of the worries to simply roll away and allow instincts to kick in. His head nodded now having a little bit more to go off, almost understanding what Marcel was thinking. “I suppose with that information what I can say is you’ll know what not to do. If you don’t want to be your parents then you don’t have to be. You know what went wrong where that led you to want things to be different, all you have to do is make sure that it is different.” Arthur offered before with a nod of his head elected to add. “You’re going to be fine, mate.”

Frank had always liked when Alice was able to spend timewith her friends, knowing that sometimes she just needed time away. Time to notthink about everything that was going on with everything. “I’m sure they willfind a way to keep themselves entertained. Those two always seem to have a goodtime together.” He replied, a smile on his lips. Molly and Arthur had alwaysbeen friends to Frank and Alice, a couple to spend time when they wanted tohang out with other people. “You got it, Mate!” Frank replied, another laughpassing his lips as he did. It was nice to know that he was going to the gamewith someone who wasn’t afraid to make a fool of themselves. Sitting in theirseat, Frank was easily greeted by the same problem he usually faced in stadiumsituations, his legs were a bit bigger than the space he was given. One of thefaults of being taller than most of him, they didn’t exactly adjust all thatwell to taller people. As the food was handed to him, frank gave a nod of hishead before taking a bit. “Thanks, Arthur.” He replied. “So, have the boysshown any interest in Quidditch yet? I’m sure soon they’ll be going to gameswith us.” Frank asked, wanting to talk with his friend before the matchstarted.

It was a nice change to get out of the house for something other than work and it helped that the company was worth keeping. Frank was a good person and Arthur was hard-pressed to find a better friend. It also helped to know that Molly was likely enjoying herself as well even though she and Alice still had boys running around. A shake of his head in agreement with the words spoken, “As long as their fun keeps them out of trouble.” Arthur offered almost sure that Frank was likely thinking the same. Once they were settled with their drinks and food he was able to look back at Frank considering the question that was offered, “Honestly, I think Bill and Charlie are going to be interested even if they don’t play but truth be told I don’t see Percy taking for the sport. He’s definitely more interested in what’s going on in his books but there are no complaints here. He’s going to be a genius.” Or that was what Arthur saw happening given that there was no actual way of telling until the time came. “But I suppose we’ll have another chance at making sure one likes Quidditch here soon.” His words broaching the topic that they were expecting another child.
