I think the meaning of life is happiness through human connection. How can I reconcile this with the fact that my job and a lot of my day takes place on the internet, where interaction is inherently diluted? Can you separate your online experience into the productive and the social, then thrown the social in the bin? What is the point of Facebook or Twitter? Sure you can keep in touch with friends more easily, but has it ever been difficult to stay in touch with your real friends? Does the culture of constant self-publishing only serve our narcissism and need for approval?
Who am I writing this to? It can't be to my four followers. Maybe it's for future me; a warning from the past. This is a waste of time, remember!
have patience with everything inside you that feels unsolved. try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms or poems written in another language. now's not the time to find the answer, it's the time to live the question.

Guys care a lot less about how girls look than girls might think. We don't care if you have a wobbly butt, small boobs, a big nose or a pimples. The problem is that the small fraction of guys who do care are much louder. They make you feel ugly because they want to feel less ugly by comparison, and they make noise about it because their voice is easy to hide behind. The most fragile societies are the ones where women are put down by law, custom, attitude or whatever. The world would be nicer if people were nicer.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Prime Minister of Australia kicking ass and taking names (mostly Tony Abbott’s). [x]
amazing.
fuck. yes.
PREACH///
A reminder that this was brilliant and things like this were the reason Labor dropped in popularity so much.
Because Australia is full of disgusting misogynists.
(Vote 1 Anyone But Abbott)
"Thinks like this"? Labour support dropped due to poor policies and a perceived lack of solidarity within the party. Stop imagining sexism.
We live in our grandparents' world.
When we are children, we see how the world needs to be improved. When we are adults, we do what we can to make these changes a reality. By the time we have effected change, we are old men and women.
The world we've created doesn't reflect our children, or grandchildren, only those like us whose time is almost up.
More complex than it's made out to be
Read this statement.
Woman earn 100 bachelor degrees to every 72 men earn.
Now pause. If you thought of something patronising, like 'men are stupid', make a note. Now read this statement.
Women earn 72 bachelor degrees to every 100 men earn.
The opposite. Pause again. Did you think this is a feminist issue? Women not getting the same opportunities as men?
Which do you think is true? Does it matter?
I've been encountering a lot of aggression towards men by feminists. Every time a girl talks about how she was victimised, or doesn't get the same opportunities, I sense an undertone of blame towards an entire gender, that I'm sure I'm not imagining.
You can't blame the unfairness that women encounter on men exclusively and entirely. I think that strength and audacity are the best ways to combat adversity. I don't want feminism to become a catchphrase.
Whenever you read people telling a story about gender inequality, replace the genders in the story and think about it again. If it's still a valid problem for a man, then it isn't an issue of feminism or masculism, it's just an issue.
Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality.
You your memories were created only five seconds ago.
No one and nothing else exists, they are just figments of your perception.
