“Thanks...”

“I think it’s whiskey and coke… I think…”
“Then absolutely count me in.” She couldn’t help chuckle.
caleb--peterson:
The first thing that Caleb noticed was the sigh, raising a brow slightly. “Hey.” He had a bunch of stuff laid out that he was working on. “I am but I always have time for you. What’s up?”
Ashlynn shrugged. “Nothin’... I was just gonna go out for lunch or something, wanted to see if you were up for it.”
mason--peterson:
“Good plan!” Mason grinned. “Would you like some?” He seemed to think for a moment. “–from the flask. Not the slushy that I’m wearing…”
“Depends what’s in it.”
“Are you getting any service right now? I’ve got nothing… God, I need a new phone.” Ali groaned.

“Huh?” Ashlynn looked up and then back down to check her phone. “Actually, no. I’m getting nothing either... must be in a shitty spot.”

“Save us all the trouble and don’t even ask what I’m covered in…” He chuckled a bit, throwing back a sip from the flask in his hand. He had fallen… well sort of jumped off the deep end. One could blame the -A message, but it wasn’t. He was teetering on the edge before that.
“Don’t worry, I wasn’t going to.” Ashlynn forced a light chuckle as she looked at him.

Ashlynn walked into the living room with a heavy sigh, moving to drop down onto the couch next to her brother. “Hey.” She said, looking over at the stuff in front of him on the coffee table. “Oh... are you working?” Ash didn’t want to disturb him.

→ Background
Born and raised in Baberton alongside her older brothers Casey and Caleb, Ashlynn was something of the princess of the family. They were all fairly close, though Ashlynn wasn’t as close to the other side of the family, her much, much older cousin Brendan and his kids. Caleb was but Ashlynn was just too young to really connect with Brendan. Ashlynn wasn’t particularly bright and she scraped by in her classes. She wasn’t too interested in school in general, though she liked being with her friends and she liked art class. Her oldest brother Caleb was living in London by the time he was eighteen and he called and wrote and visited though things weren’t quite the same but Ashlynn was content enough with it all. It was just her and Casey and their father then. Their mother had sadly died earlier on in Ashlynn’s life and she didn’t really remember her, though being the only girl in a house of guys her whole life was tough sometimes and she did often wish she’d had a mother or a sister around. She even wished she was closer with her cousin’s daughter Ruby, who was her age. Ruby, however, was one of Annie Pierce’s best friends and Annie was a malicious bitch. And honestly? So were her bloody friends. Ashlynn’s best friend growing up was Andrea Willis. Andi. She lived a street over from Ash and the two were thick as thieves. Two peas in a pod. The girls did everything together and were practically joined at the hip, but the two had a large falling out in high school and they didn’t speak again, other than to insult each other a few times in the corridors or whatever. Ash acted like it didn’t bother her but it definitely hurt her beyond belief and Ashlynn never got over losing her friend that way. They were so close that it physically pained her. It was somehow worse that Andi was out there walking around, living her life, so near and yet so far, the years taking her further and further away until Ash couldn’t even recognise her other half any longer. She dropped out of high school, not interested in it, and after a few years of sitting at home with her dad and not doing a whole lot, she ended up going to the local college and studying art. Which Ashlynn loved. She’d always loved her art, something she and her mother both shared.
→ Back to Baberton
A few months ago, Ashlynn called her brother Caleb in the middle of the night. She was in tears. Their father had passed away from a sudden brain aneurysm. It was so fast and so out of the blue that it just shocked her. Ashlynn adored her father so she’s completely devastated. He came home from London and right now he’s staying in the house with her. Casey moved out a while back so it was just Ash and their father living in the big house she’d grown up in. Ashlynn loves that house, though it’s a lot colder and sadder now. But she likes having Caleb home and is kind of intent on getting him to stay for good maybe. She knows he’s engaged to some Wendy girl and she’s got a plan to snoop through his phone to try and find her number or email so that Ash can get in touch and enlist her help in bringing her big brother home. Ash still does her art, she loves to sketch and is often out in the park by herself, cigarette in hand and pencil in the other. She shouldn’t smoke, she knows, and she’s tried to quit but it was just a habit she picked up in college and usually she goes back to it when she’s overly stressed or having a shit day. Ashlynn can be a tad dramatic sometimes, dark clothes and makeup, but she also likes to wear pink and hug kittens so she’s kind of a whole mess of contradictions in one girl. She doesn’t know who she is really even at her age, when she thought she would have everything figured out by now. Instead, she spends her time kicking around town, sketching, or working her part time job over at the pet shop. Though she realises now that she’s going to need to go up to full time or find a second job since the house is pretty much her responsibility now and.. Ashlynn won’t lose that house. She doesn’t think she’s be able to cope.
→ What’s Her Secret?
Had been madly in love with Andi and it kills her to be so on the outs with the other girl. She wants things to be like before, no even better than before, but Andi will barely ever acknowledge her (not that she has the confidence to approach first and say anything) existence now, and it really hurts her heart even after all this time. She still thinks about the way things could be, about daydreams about finally kissing her, but truthfully she supposes she doesn’t really know Andi anymore. So many years have passed.
Ash has started sleepwalking as a response to stress and anxiety. Grief, too. There are so many emotions that Ashlynn doesn’t know how to quite deal with and this is the way that they have started to come out the last month or so. She woke up while unlocking the front door the other week and she’s terrified of where she could end up if she can’t figure out how to stop this from happening.
Was beaten up and robbed one night, years ago, and always suspected Annie Pierce. She was walking home from school, feeling miserable and not paying too much attention with her headphones in her ears. Ash was shoved from behind and she ended up on the ground, earning a few kicks as she curled and protected her head. When she realised they’d gone and stood up, Ashlynn found her whole bag and its contents were gone. The event made her a little more angry and less inclined to trust people.
