Alfred~
What's wrong Gilbert??
“It’ll be okay though! I’ve outrun mercenaries before, this one will be a piece of cake! I think..”

“It’s a pretty name but I’ve never heard of it before”
“Wait, that’s..”
“Shit shit shit!! We need to go, now!”

(Ask for Gilbert) Remus has been making his daily rounds through the kingdom when he spotted a familiar person among the crowd. He thought for a moment. It seemed to be the Beilschmidt heir. “You there.” His voice boomed as he called out to the young man, signalling him out. “Halt.” (@ask-anima-2prome)
Gilbert froze in place when he heard the voice, recognizing it immediately. He motioned for Alfred - who was hidden beneath a cloak - to continue walking, turning to face the General in the same motion so it was unnoticeable that they had been walking together. He took a deep breath, forcing a smile as he tried to ignore the stares he got from being singled out.
“General Leonetti. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”
(@ask-anima-2prome)
Remus arched an eyebrow. An heir to a prominent family was out and about on his own. This, he found, was suspicious. He narrowed his eyes and examined the clothes the lad was wearing; they looked shabby, unlike anything a nobleman would be wearing. Something was off.
“Beilschmidt.” He greeted. “What business do you have in town today?” His tone was rigid and formal, much like his own aura was.
Gilbert kept an aura of calm, though he was panicking on the inside. He knew better than to show any weakness in front of the devil in front of him. He noticed Remus’s eyes move and he mentally cursed, knowing he looked nothing like he had the last time they met. But he kept his face calm, carefully choosing his words.
“Can I not enjoy a day out on the town by myself?” He adjusted his coat, making sure to flash his family’s ring. “I can see you eyeing my clothes. You are familiar with the problem I have with the sun, aren’t you?” It was hardly a secret that he couldn’t be in the sun for very long without getting sunburnt. He wanted nothing more than to curse him out and run, but he stayed calm with a faux aura of friendliness.
He was definitely hiding something, Remus concluded. Why else would someone of status care to mingle with the commoners?
“Quite. Yet, I fail to see how dressing as a pauper will help you situation.” He continued to eye the lad carefully. “Unless there’s more to this disguise?”
The general chuckled. He could only imagine what the young Beilschmidt was hiding. Perhaps a mistress? A love for wine and gambling? Perhaps a deep, dark secret that would cause his ruin.
Gilbert started to scream internally. He wanted to run, but he couldn’t risk it. He couldn’t let him find out what he’d been doing. Careful to hide his panic, he shrugged.
“You’re less likely to get robbed if you don’t flaunt your riches. If I may, what brings you to town? Have you found more business for my father?” He tried to change the subject, waving off his choice of dress. He could tell Remus was getting suspicious, which was the last thing he wanted. For now, all he needed was to get the general to leave him alone.
Deflection.
Truly, there was something here. Remus internally smirked as he watched the other slowly begin to squirm under his pressure. It was one of the things Remus enjoyed most about his status.
“Yes, I do have a few things to discuss with your father.” Remus played along. “I’m sure you’ll be interesting too.”
“Well, I won’t keep you, then.” Gilbert took a step back, trying to not visibly flinch at his second statement. He rose an eyebrow, growing more defensive. “I’m.. not sure what you mean..?”
Gilbert glanced over his shoulder, though in the opposite direction of where Alfred had gone. He knew there was a tavern in the direction he was looking. He cleared his throat, adjusting his coat. “It’s been lovely to see you again, but I really must be going.”
Remus nodded in reply and watched the young boy make his way to the nearby tavern. Once he was out of earshot, the general motioned for one of the soldiers to come closer and listened closely.
“Summon Ms. Edelstein to my sitting room. There is some business she and I must discuss.”
The soldier took off to do his task and Remus redirected his men to head to the Beilschmidt estate. Whatever was going on, he thought, he would get to the bottom of it.

“Gillian is still very young so someone has to stay with him, and I need help and Gilbert needs a job, so it works.”
“I have trouble keeping my jobs for a long time for.. personal reasons. So until we need to move again, I work the counter for an anima named Klaus.”
