Since I might as well ask here with everyone to share... How long did you let Thomas' character develop before finalizing him? Basically, how much time passed between the initial idea and public release.

It took nearly a solid month. I was scared of a lot of things, to be honest- I didn’t think his pointy face would be accepted by the PMDU admins, and I sure as hell didn’t think that anyone would want to read a character based from my internal monologues. I’d never done anything like a “sona” before, only found out about them because of Sass’ Axew. I sure as hell did not expect the reaction that it got when it was released, and heck, I’ve just got to make sure that my next works live up to the public’s same standards. :)

If your characters could change species, what would they rather be?

Thomas: “Linoone, no contest. Now don’t you ever fucking ask me again.”Adrian: “...I suppose I’m fairly comfortable with what I’ve got now, but if I did have to change species, I’d have to go with Chatot. Being a polygot automatically- well, that’s not it exactly, but being able to transfer between languages rapidly, without any interruption... that’s more than worth having a musical note for a head. Actually, never mind. A species like that... Cobalt wouldn’t have even shot me a glance.”

What are your characters' views on evolution? Do any of them want to evolve?

Adrian: YES VERY MUCH SO THANK YOU THAT WOULD BE EXCEEDINGLY FANTASTIC, wait for me cobaaaaaaltThomas: Honestly, I don’t really want to... Skuntank smell even worse, and the tail is just freakishly large. I know that it wouldn’t work as a good counterbalance for when I’m dancing, ‘cause it’s just so heavy! That, and I’m a little worried about my face looking weirder than it already does...

Thomas: For crying out loud, no! Am I just doomed to attract everyone with that fetish?! God... Wait, why would your gender make any difference?

How would your character react if they found out they were fictional?

Vale would use it as an excuse to do whatever he wanted, and I mean anything, pretty much everyone else, existential crisis ^^;

did people back home know about Thomas's orientation? what did they think when the subject was hypothetically brought up? where people where he came from cool with it or...

Monte de Basto, the region where Thomas grew up, still wasn’t completely open towards homosexuality. It was more of a “don’t ask, don’t tell” across the board. When his family did find out, his eldest brother used it as a chance to blackmail him, whenever he could- little tasks in exchange for keeping quiet. His parents never really acknowledged it, treating it like a phase whenever it was brought up.When Thomas did get his first boyfriend, they spent all of their time together hiding, at one time literally in a closet, stereotypical as it was (which may or may not have vastly added to Thomas’ stealth expertise.)

I've never used the poison glands in my, err, rear, so they haven't been developed like a normal Stunky's. It still doesn't smell great, but if I did try to spray you, I doubt anything would come out.

I do not reblog things like this very often, but this affects me both personally and my business as a freelance artist.

In the economy here; cash is already strapped as it is. You bet your ass companies would suck the ever living life out of misc. art sites.

I don’t want it to ever come down to me choosing between groceries or purchasing a new tier package via comcast to be able to access tumblr or DeviantArt (let alone not guaranteeing I’ll even be seen by my customer base since they may not want to pay out their asses either). It doesn’t seem important to most, but I do 90% of my business online entirely.

Please sign up, fight for this and share it with your followers/friends/family and urge them to give them hell as well.

Not writing related, but this is incredibly important. While we pay for service via ISPs, the internet has been a relatively free space where everyone, no matter their income level, is able to connect, access a wealth of information, and express themselves. The Internet has become a major part of our culture as human beings and the notion that ISPs might be able to limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more is utterly sickening. A lot of us are cash strapped as is, and I’d rather not be limited even more by someone else’s greed. Net Neutrality is essential and I hope you guys will understand why it needs to remain.

As I understand this ruling, it means that businesses now have to pay extra to ISPs to have access to their websites through that ISP provided at a reasonable speed. If you don’t pay, users’ access to your website will be slowed to a crawl - so independent people and small businesses can forget about getting onto that high speed access tier.

This means that the American internet is going to be firmly under the control of those who have the most money. You’ll only get to see the content of those who can pay the ISPs to provide access at a reasonable speed. This means that you can expect to see skewed representation of just about everything, with those bigger businesses who can afford to pay ISPs a premium for access deciding what you can and cannot read, view and consume on the internet.

This is not something that we have in the UK. Our ISPs compete with each other to provide higher speeds, better services and lower prices, but because there’s a monopoly in the US of a few ISPs who provide services, they can afford to do this to you. You can’t go anywhere else, after all.

Everyone in the US needs to sign that petition, call their representatives, write angry letters and do whatever you can to tell your government that this ruling is Not Okay.

Which of your characters are literate and illiterate? If literate, where did they learn and who taught them?

Literate: Thomas, Adrian, Malcolm, Carson, Thaddeus, Vale. All graduated higher schooling but Vale (Thomas and Malcolm, regular high school, and Vale absorbing the memories of those he'd possessed.)Illiterate: Superjobownik

Adrian, do you believe in some of today's word origins coming from Pokémon names?

Adrian: Absolutley! A very obvious example would be "ninja", a word of Iaponese origin, its roots visibly in the Froakie evo line, Greninja, specifically. It refers to a creature of phenomenal martial skill and stealth, regardless of species- this term probably came to be when the Greninja's signature fighting style was passed on to other species. Many others share the same characteristics, in a less obvious fashion- a smaller part of the word. Iron from the rough, metallic skin of an Aron, for instance.
