//I think it's a sign of me "growing up" that while I don't particularly enjoy the "mentor turned villain" type characters, I can at least respect them and see what they did to shape characters I do adore. For example, my first playthrough of Inquisition I hated Alexius, but after some time I could come to see why he did the things he did and had to admit he had a very heavy impact on a character I do enjoy- Dorian. And if it weren't for the magister being hard on my little altus, Dorian wouldn't be half of what he is. I think it's also cool Dorian's "ult" is time magic- a nod to Alexius? And while it does absolve him of guilt, I believe his motives for trying to save Felix were genuine. Similar idea for my take on Tezzeret and Jace's dynamic. I appreciate Tezz much more after reading Test of Metal, and have to admit to the man's cleverness and resourcefulness. Do I dislike the shit he put Jace through? Sure, planning to implant Jace's mind into machine in order to more effectively control his magic is kind of twisted, but Tezz does have some very valid points. And had he not pushed Jace in his early days with the Consortium, our little mind mage may not have been the Guildpact he is now.
