How long have you been drawing, my dude?

been doodling all my life basically, but started digital art and really dedicating myself to it in 2010!

Into any anime?

not much, actually! but that’s just cause I barely watch any tv, everything i watch is either from creators on youtube or just boring stuff on hulu/netflix like great british bakeoff, haha. i watch a ton of cartoons though! been watching a lot of Gumball lately, we bare bears, etc. and i’ve been absolutely in LOVE with “Hilda” on netflix lately. it’s suuuper “over the garden wall” esque, and the animation/colors/monster designs are so great. big recommend! 

oh i did watch aggretsuko so i suppose that counts, haha

Will we see more Umber in your art? I love that OC.

who knows! i’m always down to draw him. i’ve been struggling a lot recently though about, like, not having a personal character. Olli’s basically me but also more like a mascot than a fursona? umbers good but i draw a lot less ponies nowadays, and he doesnt really look like me. I need a “brae” character, ya know? so i’m figuring that out! maybe i just need a fully new anthro character that can be “me”. i dunno!

Is there any particular animal that you have trouble or difficulty drawing?

Oooooh, I mean, basically any animal I haven’t drawn yet! It’s always tough learning a new one, haha.

Also, I have a weirdly tough time with anthro/more realistic horses? Just cause there’s so many great facial styles, I always feel like i have a tough time landing on one

Are you archiving the asks from this page? Some of these have actually been really helpful for me tbh.

Got em all in a .txt document now! It’s plaintext and not very pretty, so hopefully i’ll be able to restore them in a browseable manner someday

As far as the tumblr ban thing, I dont think any of these text posts will be affected? Some rare image posts, sure, but for the most part I think this blog will stay intact, if not super hard to search for/find.

This blog really was super formative for me. I mean, a lot of what I’d put here was misinformed/uneducated/etc (i did start it when i was 17, i think), but it was still such an essential place for me to just, be myself, talk out my thoughts, work out my sexuality, and hopefully help some other people do the same. And I’d like to think it did that? It means a lot!

i do, but it’s just for patrons! i’d have a public one, but like....the patron one is already nearing an overwhelming amount of members, there’s no way I could handle a public one, haha

No offense, just trying to offer constructive criticism (and i know that’s a huge red flag to start an ask with, but as an artist myself i prefer for people to tell me what i can improve on rather than blanket praise), you should work on improving at drawing chastity! Again, no offense intended and I’m very sorry if this came off as rude - I love your art!

i’ve drawn chastity literally once, dude! A lil cage on an otter once; if you’ve got some tips on that piece, absolutely lemme know. I’m absolutely desperate for critique and criticism. But like, the vagueness of this makes it super obvious that you’re framing an art request as encouraging self-improvement, haha

No offense...But you're not going to turn into one of those artists who only shows their art on Patreon and leaves people waiting for MONTHS just to see one picture or whatever, right?? b/c I'm a student and can't afford patreon and that'd suck cause your art is so great

i’ve been doing patreon since february, and basically the only images that are “patreon exclusive” are HD versions of the pictures i post publicly anyway! And maybe like, a weird alt version of a picture here and there, or sketches of things that i’ve already finished and posted. my patrons don’t really get access to exclusive images; just access to request streams, the chance for comic cameos, voting on illustrations, etc etc

while there’s nothing wrong with artists working on a completely patreon-exclusive basis, as art is a luxury good that no one is entitled to, that’s almost definitely something i’ll never do! Partly because I know it’s what people prefer but mostly because I require attention and validation, rip

i’ve been producing and posting more art than i ever have in my entire 8 years of digital art production and it’s all thanks to patreon, so i dunno why you’re worried; basically the opposite is happening! lmao

How long’ll will you be printing physical copies of your comics?

Probably (hopefully) like another couple years? It really depends on long there keeps being demand for me to have them available + how well they keep selling at cons!

Could you do a dragon study sheet

I think the concept art pages for Teen/Big Spike in the Comic Relief download/book are the closest things I have to something like that! Now that I think about it, I dont think I’ve uploaded those yet? Whoops! I’ll do that soon!
