"You’re alive?"
-
"I had my reasons," said the bishop, in a serious tone. "The only thing that should matter is that I’m here, I’m here right now, alive and in front of you."
He wanted to pat the brat, he lifted his left arm but stopped midway realizing that it would only upset the kid, so he dropped it and started to walk towards his room.
"It would be best for you to go to sleep. We can talk more tomorrow when you’re more calm…"
He saw the action and a part of him wished that Frau actually did mess up his hair. Like old times.
And then Frau started leaving, again. When will be the next time Teito will see Frau again? For all he knows, the idiot could be lying.
Again.
"I— Wait a minute!" This little clawing ball of fear that Frau was going to disappear again kept growing inside the kid, so he not so much walked as ran towards the towering figure. “I-I’m not done with you damnit!”
The kid caught up to him quickly, but he kept walking.
"You might not be done with me, but I am," said the bishop seriously, "We will talk like civilized people tomorrow. It's late and brats like you should be in bed already."
He didn't want to keep talking because he knew, he knew, that he would end up spewing everything out and he didn't want Teito to have anything to do with the scythe. He didn't want the brat to find a way of blaming himself and for him to try to find a way to fix something that had been broken long ago.He didn't want Teito to get hurt.
Out of everything Frau wanted to encounter himself with when he came back he didn't want this. He didn't want to lie to the kid, he didn't want to seem cold either, but what hurt the most was that he had to keep a reasonable distance with the brat. "It's for his well being." he thought guiltily as he kept walking.
