lesbian badlands / roman holiday.
and we know that we’re headstrong and our heart’s gone and the timing’s never right but for now let’s get away on a roman holiday.
closeted dick.
owen could hardly concern himself with the whereabouts of his friend when he had so many people coming up to him, asking him questions and saying hello. not that he’d care even if they didn’t, but for now he’d blame his lack of caring on other people. it was fucked up, but little things like that made him feel better about himself and his selfish ways. it wasn’t until little ways through the party that he finally ran into the blonde again. he was heading to the kitchen to get himself and allison more drinks. the kitchen was mostly vacated besides parker and a couple other people talking in the corner. he supposed most of the people were lining up at the keg, but owen didn’t want to wait and he figured there was something STRONGER hiding in the kitchen. ❛ you ran off quick. ❜ he says, brown hues grazing over the male for a couple seconds before redirecting attention to the cabinets. as big and nice as this house was, there had to be a bottle of something stashed somewhere. ❛ you gonna hide in here the whole time or are you gonna get your as out there and socialize? ❜ tone was a little condescending, but it was mostly put on. he could play this asshole role all he liked, but he would be LYING if he said he liked when him and parker weren’t getting along. these parties were never as fun when his best friend wasn’t out there enjoying it with him.
fingers immediately began opening cabinets and moving objects to the side in search for something hidden behind all the essential household BULLSHIT piled up within the midst of appearances built off an abundance money. as if the profusion of imported spices and seasoning could shield away a family member’s alcohol problem, he never understood it. most bottles cleared out before he got there, but he found whiskey sitting heavy on the shelf, swift to claim it as his own. hands quick to open it, lips meeting the brim of glass in seconds. a scattered selection of people moved in and out of the kitchen, parker, leaning against the counter. after some time, the bottle settled somewhere behind him, irritation increasing when owen came in looking for liquor. ❛ yeah well, ❜ he refused to let his gaze set on the other for longer than seconds. he does watch him struggle though, finding pride fill his frame slightly. ❛ dunno, i might. ❜ parker’s reaching behind him, fingers coiled around the neck of the bottle, bringing it up to his mouth, now watching him intently. some form of chuckle falling against the atmosphere, the back of his hand coming up to wipe across his lips. ❛ here. ❜ he says, reaching out to offer him the drink.

she’d start the day off wearing a sharp dress with rather painful heels, and as the day went on she could feel her feet begin to blister. the way her heart as well began to blister. she came across as a dreadful, scary woman (only because men feared strong women) yet Lydia felt utterly weak, too tired, she felt dead. but she remained with such an empowering facade no matter how much pain she endured all the meanwhile. it was here, on carter’s roof where Lydia was able to be her true self. where she was able to rant about life and not feel alone. for carter knew Lydia and Lydia knew carter at such a young age. “eh..” Lydia sounded out showing an agreeance to his comment on his parents before letting a soft giggle surpass her pouty lips. as the two made their way up the spiral stairs Lydia's fingers danced along the railings. endless supply of memories playing before her, of them when they were young and free of such a sad world. carter took his seat on the roof and as Lydia made her way past the window, she had kicked off her annoying heels to relax next to him. “i would say please do so but then you’d have to see my bad side and i would hate to scare you away.” she teased easily before taking the cigarette between her lips. holding it close to carter’s lighter. “and plus, if you moved … where would we meet at midnight huh?”
sweats clinging to his frame were worn on a daily, only peeled from his body when he had to go to class, or any other occasion where he wasn’t alone in his room. traded in for something more presentable, as his parents would say. it was all an endless scene of variations of courses he didn’t want to sit through, for people who didn’t care enough to keep dinner plans with him. perhaps, he shouldn’t feel so despondent and tired, with nothing filling his time, but there’s something exasperating about a lack of purpose. the thought heavy and sorrowful when looking around at the people who encompassed him everyday. adjacent to one another there was an absence of similarity, but carter couldn’t see it. views filled with simpler days, and long summers where they didn’t have to grow up at such a drastic pace. cool nights sitting on his roof. “you don’t have a bad side.” he objected, eyes rolling playfully to match the amused grin now pulling on the corners of his lips, cigarette coming up to settle between brims, lighting his own after lydias. “anyone who thinks you're scary is dumb, you’re tiny, and a dork.” words composed, a chuckle surfacing. things were always easier around her. “that’s true, but we don’t have to sneak around at midnight anymore.”

Young just means youʼre still learning and if youʼre an actor you never lose that. I love the term ‘young actress’ because it just means that I donʼt know everything yet and I hope I never do. I wonʼt.

Someone give me “I’m a bartender and I saw someone slip something in your drink while you looked at your phone im so sorry I must have given you the wrong order here’s a new one nOW LOOK IN MY EYES AND SEE THAT IM TRYING TO TELL YOU THAT DOUCHEBAG SITTING NEXT TO YOU IS BAD NEWS”
We were so young,“ she says, “we thought we had the world. It was going to be hard, but love was everything, and love was enough. “But things change with time, things don’t go to plan. One minute he’s kissing your face swearing he’ll do whatever it takes to make you his wife, the next he’s on the phone to a girl who spends the evening saying things she knows he likes. “The worst part is you never know what’s coming, you throw yourself off a cliff hoping there aren’t rocks like daggers on the ground. You stay safe and never live, or jump and risk everything. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose; when you’re young you think you know how much it’ll hurt. “When it comes? You’ll realise you never had a clue.

i’ll walk through the fire, i’ll begin again, i’ll burn through my skin, cause i wanna feel it. reaching for the truth, not afraid to lose. what shattered through me like a rifle was a revival. i admit, it’s been painful, but i’ll be honest, i’m grateful, grateful. it’s my time to realize what i’ve learned is so vital. more than just survival, this is my REVIVAL.
