I actually just heard a Verkehrssoldat yell the Jet-2-Holiday meme.
Like, in real life, in front of other random soldiers and NCOs.
What dou you mean people can just yell memes in any place, not just in when your with your best friends?
This morning I saw a small bird run around a small meadow, picking the ground, and without missing a beat, my brain went a little something like this (in german):
Oh my god, it John Earlybird! He's up and about, he's running around and putting in WORK, getting those worms and breakfasting all over the grass.
Clearly, guarding a base as night shift isn't helping in containing t h e s i l l i n e s s.

Seeing a Private hitting this pose while emptymindedly staring at his breakfast MRE while it's "cooking" gives me joy and a bit of pity at the same time.

Can't sleep because full moon shining through the window with neither curtains nor blinds
Fleece jacket as pillow
Floor hard asf
Waking up at 0232:
Too warm
Open up layers
Moonlight doesn't even bother anymore
Pillow and floor not that bad anymore
Just want to go back to sleep
Alarm at 0615:
Cold again
Closed layers sometime during sleep
Get out of "bed"
Alarm Off
Put on uniform
Fresh up in the bathroom
Breakfast MRE: Oat flakes with apple pieces and cinnamon (it's okay I guess)
Morale is high, sleep time low. This is going to be a fun time like always.
