The ping from the laptop and Aion knew they had to leave, now. Getting up he immediately put his hands into his pockets, checking if his taser was still there - just in case.

Quietly nodding when the leopard spoke up, he mentally prepared himself for the upcoming events which would probably drain him completely. He waited for Rom to go through the door first, a habbit he had picked up in his early childhood thanks to his father.

“We need to find him first, I don’t want to watch another person like us being treated unfairly..”

The injustice non-humans had to deal with each day and the certainty that his husband would be there with him were the reasons to stand up again every day. Someone had to fight this after all - if Aion really is the right person for this, he’s not so sure but his father seems to be..

* A plan needs to be thought of now. / Rom hated the idea of his boss and his underlings getting to the... Cat-boy? Hedgehog? Whatever he was, he just wanted to get the kid first before anyone else. He knew damn well death was a possible punishment even for the most innocent crimes. Even lying in court could get non-humans jailed... The spirale city was truly a nightmare to non-humans. Maybe he can think in the car while he was driving, not like the force could forbid them vehicles.

All Rom remembers was watching another non-human get beaten in the interrogation room, with no possibilities to stop the violence. All because a popular streamer by the name of “Ryujin” was accused of cheating during a gaming tournament. It turned out in the end, he never cheated.

The leopard starts, placing a pair of keys in Aion’s hand. The key to Rom’s office. He knew Aion wasn’t much of a fighter and only fought back if needed. But he knew the lion was capable of running and locking himself in somewhere, buying time for Rom and Crow the other animal-human.

Seems like the band “lead” managed to start quite a fire in the group chat… To his surprise, said doubles barely escape the grasp of hell. Crow groans in anger, looking back into the chat– “Meet up in half an hour.” Shit, he’s gonna be late to that. Knowing Rom’s habits, he’ll lead the boys to victory… or whatever Crow views “beating his doubles up” as. He’s probably also just looking for an excuse to swing Red Tomahawk at someone- or well. His ukulele actually. His beloved guitar was locked away in the unknown ( god knows where the higher ups hid her, she was already collecting dust !! )

The hedgehog balls his hands up into fists, his tail becoming visibly more spiky– crimson gaze looking down upon “himself”… a reflection that had a fragile body, a camera hung up on him. Who the fuck does he think he is ?! “ Fuck !! I’ll get y’all ‘nd I swear on Rom he’ll beat you up !! ” Crow screams after the running myumons, voice echoing in anger. His voice cracks mid-way through screaming, his vocal chords are giving up already. He’s definitely stressed about this situation, since it happened just so suddenly.

Only then after sending the messages, he sprints off to apartment 302 in whatever ward that was. Running in heels wasn’t the problem, but the thought of knowing someone else could replace him– it was a fear of his. He hated the word replacement so much, what if… everyone just forgot him one day ? After running for quite a while, he finds himself infront of Apartment 302. Hopefully Rom’s roommates are gone by now, so he aggressively knocks on the door like he was running away from a zombie apocalypse. Crow needs to catch his breathe, but his fear continues to drive him and aggressively knock the door. Until Rom opened the door abruptly–

* KNOCK KNOCK ! / Daylight was fading away, running off the horizon. Rom was dissociating, waiting with Yaiba and Aion in his apartment for a certain small hedgehog. Of course he’d be late, but he didn’t seem to realize the aggressive banging on his door. Instead he’s typing on his phone

[ Rom in the SHINGAN CHAT ]: Just hurry up here. [ Rom in the SHINGAN CHAT ]: Don’t go chasing after something we can’t confirm unless we all look into it.

… It’s not that he didn’t put trust in Crow, actually wait it is. Anytime Crow babbled, he always doubted the truth shrouded in. Was Crow truly honest or just stuck in his own imaginary world, stuck in a perfect world again? He will never know.

Rom only wakes from his daydreams after giving it more thought. Another Rom? How would he be, the leopard wonders... He opens the door abruptly, seeing Crow stumble and fall down into the apartment like he just escaped a zombie horde outside.

Evening was only their waking time, Crow wakes up truly afternoon. He is a nocturnal being, after all– naturally he’d start walking around the city at such times. Only to have his eyes play a little magic trick. Crow squints off into the sunset to find… copies of ShinganCrimsonZ running off into another ward— Cotes ward. Crow snaps a photo (blurry, to say the least, unlike the other ones talent in taking pictures) and moves to the chatroom with his bandmates, fingers typing like a maniac about how he just found some fakers

* PING ! / Another day goes by, work making the day seem slower than it already is. He’s as tired as any high schooler with only 2 hours of sleep. His phone rings the annoying ping tone, Rom only sighing-- he’s awaiting some disappointing message or “maymays” that Crow and Yaiba throw around in the group chat like it’s a chainmail.

... Except this time, the picture caught him off guard.

A Picture

A picture. A single image reminding you of someone or something you’ve lost, something you don’t want to live without. You can’t seem to move on, to accept life has changed, to live again. You’re trapped in the picture, in the past. Maybe this was a lost family member or friend, maybe this was a sickness that isn’t going away, maybe this was sinking into depression. But you can’t help but remember how life was before, how life after will never be the same, and can’t help but feel that nothing in the future will be able to fill the hole the past left.

Nothing lasts forever… Right?

Leaning on the window sill, Aion was looking outside, watching the daily routine of the people walking on the street. A bird had caught his attention, flying around and once in a while stopping to rest on a branch before going back into the air. The lion watched it closely, passively listening to his husband, only nodding as answer to the first question.

“So somebody actually called the police on that kid… What will we do once we find him? After all the punishment for non-humans is worse even when a human commited the same crime…” Voicing this injustice which was going on in their system - especially as a detective - wasn’t something a supervisior would take without acting on it but right now it was just them, he could be truthful.

Still, it bothered him a lot and he hated that for one he had to stay quiet and for another he wouldn’t be able to speak up anyways. He barely managed to talk to others and Rom probably was the only person he could talk to without his usual posing.

Straightening and turning to look at the leopard he spoke up once more. “When are we leaving?”

* Injustice is a norm. / He knew when Aion was thinking of something, and often times the leopard would say a word or two to reassure his husband. But now he couldn’t-- he knew if that kid is gonna get arrested he might have a record... perhaps even worse than just that. The interrogation room was both closed off to them after Rom spoke up against his boss’ injustice. Things only got violent in that room when it came to non-humans.

❛ … We can try talking to the boss again, he’s inclined to listen to me anyways. ❜

His laptop pings him about the hedgehog’s whereabouts. Rom grabs his jacket and keys, signaling Aion to get up from his chair.

❛ We’re goin’ now. This kid may be in danger and I won’t let the forces catch him first. ❜

* Paperwork, so much paperwork. / Reports came flooding in every day, missing people, assault... all sorts of crimes. None of this was his business. All he had to do was review it and then move onto his actual job. Rom’s laptop was filled with all sorts of reports, but one stood out. Rarely ever does he get a request to arrest another non-human.

No pictures of this citizen, no information on their species. This felt oddly like a certain kid... Why does he feel like he knows this one ?? Crow, was that you ?

oof, I’m almost late to the event. Anyways, I’ll use the Phantom Thief SB69 AGF AU from 2016.

Rom, 27 year old officer, Chief Detective in the Cotes ward. Making his way up to the high spot and possibly the youngest one as well, Rom is the Chief detective of the Cotes ward-- his sense of justice is a strong one, going as far as to almost die in one of his events. This has earned him easy rankups, and such. However, he tends to get into fights with the Head chief of the Police department. He still remains in a great reputation as a hero but recently his actions may be questionable. As of lately he’s been late to work and often seen at bars, but why is unknown.

The 27 year old Leopard is led to believe that he’s been living his full live in the spirale city, working as a young police officer working up to his current position.

Married to a (soon to be applied) Lion who works as an undercover detective / crime scene investigator.

Non-human, he’s a leopard... and a fast one at that.

Talk shit about non-humans and he will actually run up and punch you. Don’t try it, he’s... fairly strong.

Aion gets a special place in his heart, they are married after all. Which means they also live together.

Criminal? Become his enemy. Literally tease him that he’ll never catch you, make him angry.

Work for the police? You better not mess up your reports or lose sight of a criminal. Or else he’ll yell at you. Other than that, he’s still a nice leopard!
