This is Adam. He is the owner of the bodega by my house. When I was jobless and had no idea when I would have money he looked out for me and gave me food from his deli until I had an income. I am so grateful to have been in a community where people look out and support you when you really need it the most. Going to miss BedStuy and the wonderful people in this neighborhood. Walking around alone isn't always as smooth as women want it to be. Getting harassed, whistled at, or even followed home by a man is gross, uncomfortable, and annoying.
