Guardian Angel: CLOSED w/ @helloimthetrickster
Martin had always heard of guardian angels, but he thought they were the stuff of legends. There were plenty of supernatural occurrences in Gotham, but certainly no angels.
How could he possibly know his angel was watching him? Waiting for the right moment to make himself known. Gabriel wasn’t your usual guardian angel, that was for damn sure. An angel turned trickster God turned soulmate of a human, he wore many hats. He heard Martin’s thoughts, how he was scared and alone. But going to the orphanage would only get the boy in a worse predicament, so he waited.
Gabriel got a good feeling from the raven haired male who adopted Martin, plus it didn’t hurt that the man was just as sarcastic as himself. The boy went from a tiny cot to a whole queen sized mattress in a beautiful mansion. It was the perfect time to meet Martin Cobblepot.
“Galactically,” Gabriel corrected and rubbed at his temples.
“No. Nope. We aren’t having a kid until you stop living with Dean.” The archangel tutted and pulled away, moving to go make sure Martin wasn’t looking at dead prostitute’s or something.
“Galactically?” Sam questioned. Martin ruffled the corgis fur as he flipped through the pages. There was a vast collection of books at the manor, but none as interesting as these.
“Don’t act like you’re the one with the hard stance on having a child,”
Gabriel gaped at that, squinting at Sam.
“Shut up.” He mumbled.
“His parents are called Ed and Oswald.” The archangel stated and sat down next to Martin.
Sam wracked his brain, trying to figure out who Martin’s parents were.
“This book is interesting, I didn’t know ghosts were real.” Martin thought
Gabriel hummed. “Explain ghosts to him?” The archangel sighed. “I’ll find you some newspaper clippings on his parents.”
Though Gabriel was Martin’s angel, Sam quickly stole the child away. He had never met a child so much like himself. At one point the two had snuck away to him and Gabe’s room, where he kept his personal collection of books.
Gabriel was fine with it. As long as he and Martin were back by the end of the day he could say they had been researching. It was cute that Sam was so good with him.
Sam eventually returned to Gabriel.
“Kid tired himself out,he’s asleep in our bed.” He informed before sitting down.
“So now we can talk about his parents,”
“To be honest?” Gabriel sighed and threw his hands up, “No idea!” He began to pace.
“That kids gonna be the king of hell, his parents are geniuii but also kind of assholes and the closest thing he seems to have to a friend is his dog.” The archangel frowned and crossed his arms, turning to stare at Sam.
“Sometimes dogs are better than people, less annoying.” He paused.
“But is he safe there?” Sam asked. It was obvious he cared about this kid he knew nothing about.
