Words can't express how proud I am of all these kiddos...(plus Sarah, we missed you) We are all here to celebrate the graduation of our nephew, Brennan Taylor from the United States Air Force Academy. Time-there never seems to be enough of it-but when I find it sitting right here at my piano for an hour absorbed in classical music-I am transformed. I am calm, I am refreshed and I am astonished at the fact that I can still sit down and play this partially from memory. I often think about, but don't often express, my sincere gratitude to my amazing piano teacher Mary Ruth Boone-and my parents for encouraging my desire and talent. As an adult I'm so thankful to have this creative outlet. I had no idea how valuable the ability to play really would be when I was banging out those scales and fretting over every wrong note 25 years ago. If you play-you know, playing is the best therapy, if you know a child taking lessons-keep encouraging them to stick with it-it's something nobody can ever take away. #pianolessons #musicistherapy #kurzweil #schubert #worthit #ebonyandivory #playforjoy #thanksmrsboone (at Dexter, Missouri)
