In the crosstalk interview for Toei Hero vol. 51, the cast of Ressha Sentai ToQger reveal that a lot of their younger fans didn’t quite get the relationship between Tokacchi and Mio.

Jin Hiramaki, who plays Tokacchi, says that younger fans were often confused as to why Tokacchi was acting embarrassed, or why Mio was acting reluctant in certain scenes.

Riria Kojima, who plays Mio, agrees and says: “Kids would write me fan letters, saying ‘please try to get along with Tokacchi.’“

“They thought Mio and Tokacchi were just fighting all the time,” Jin says, laughing as well.
