For 2015, I simply want to be better for myself. No gyms. No diets. No pretending like the past never happened because the last digit in the time sequence has changed. My life has been everything from awful to beautiful leading up to this point. I've learned that a good majority of feelings, will pass. I'll learn from it and move on. I've also learned that some feelings, some very rare feelings, will linger for life. Im not trying to "start fresh" and forget that I probably abused cocaine in my earlier teen years, or that I fucked some girls boyfriend for like my entire first year of college. Im not perfect, in fact I feel tragically flawed more often than not, but every fucked up thing led me here. Whatever, its a new year, I get it. But I wont pretend its a 'new me'. Im still Breanne. A more mature Breanne than in years prior, but still Breanne none the less. I am a better person today. Not a new person, just a better person. Hello 2014+1, I saw you coming, and I didn't prepare. Fuck.

“My series presents the truth about the sensitivity of boys, especially boys of color. It is important to have images that positively portray boys of color because they are stereotyped in ways which lead people to believe that they feel less pain than other people. Their negative depiction in popular media contributes to a lack of empathy for them and robs them of human qualities. My images show that boys of color are people who feel pain just as strongly if not more than others. Like flowers, they are beautiful and must be protected. Please do not step on them.”
