Google spent years trying to figure out what made its best teams perform. They measured everything, and what separated their highest performers was this one thing: psychological safety. When people felt they could show up, be authentic, and not be punished for it, they thrived ✨
Abraham Maslow put safety right at the base of his hierarchy of needs, below everything else we often chase. John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth spent decades proving that being truly held by another person, seen and responded to consistently, shapes the nervous system for life
This is basic grandmother wisdom backed by research. Studies show that kids who grow up with that presence develop secure attachment. A biological buffer against stress follows them into adulthood, their relationships, and how their bodies handle pressure early in life. Felt safety influences which parts of our genetic code get expressed.
Today, in the absence of a village, mothers must build this invisible architecture. There’s no performance review for rewiring another human being’s nervous system to believe, at a cellular level, that they’re not alone here. No metric for being someone’s safe place.
You are Poetry
You are poetry
Hidden light
she shines from up above
silver limned soul bright
epitome of love
You are poetry
A moonlit night
That envelops my soul
In a warm tender song
Full of endless joy
You are poetry
sweet surrender
glory always, enfolding
such joy beholding
in my heart everlong
You are poetry
Furious and wild,
tender and innocent,
First born magic
You are poetry
silently stilled
a moment of sublime grace
ever empty, ever filled
vastness of luminous
space
You are poetry
Unwritten that floats
That I keep my heart open for
A kaleidoscope of subtleties
I will spend my life
Learning the meaning of
