do you have any tips to have fun drawing? :( like without the "draw what you like" thing because this didn't help me at all... but i really wanna keep drawing

I actually would like to know what ppl are struggling with because drawing it fun for me all the time but maybe because I have combined it with my very specific interest?? (Not to be curt) Like I think if you can’t draw what you like and think it’s fun then I don’t think you like to draw all that much. It is definitely a labor of love like to complete something but even sketching something shouldn’t be something that’s makes you feel like it’s a chore! So what I really was interested in when I started to draw like all the time is character design and fashion design I love clothes and character concepts so I bought a lot of books and I study them I try to replicate them and make characters out very broad concepts like a word or a color or like a fruit or a flag

I made many vision boards and outlines for what I enjoyed filled with photography other ppls art all of that to get inspired

That’s what my interest lies I think that you genuinely have to dig into your brain for what you like I will say do not stop drawing I think if you like it continue but if you ALREADY don’t find it fun maybe pivot

some cute little details i really like about this drawing

- the shirt she’s wearing is a lyric from the song “pelados em Santos” (naked in Santos) by the band Mamonas Assassinas. “Porreta” can be roughly translated to “cool”

- the ties around her wrist and ankle are called “fitinhas do Bonfim” (Bonfim ribbons). Bonfim is a district in Salvador famous for it’s church and the little ribbons that are given when you visit the place. There’s a myth that if you wrap it around twice and tie 3 knots, you get a wish for each knot you tied, and they will become true when the ribbon naturally breaks, but you can’t say your wishes out loud or cut the ribbon!

- the view behind her is of the Farol da Barra (Barra’s Lighthouse), one of the most famous beaches in Salvador.
