Fellow quilters,
Please reblog with three of your favorite projects. Let's share that which we love!
I love making things bold.
Latest Legit Kits quilt. This one was pieced by one of my repeat customers, Cindy and she told me to “do my thing”. After staring at it for awhile, walking away from it for a lunch break, scrolling through Pinterest to hopefully spark an idea or two…I got started and almost didn’t stop til I was done. Now it’s photographed and bound, and will soon be on its way back to its maker.
Video of the animals quilt to show off the quilting designs and thread color changes better…
Loved getting to quilt this one for Kathy. There is a different color of thread and different quilted design for each of the colors of fabric used, which I think she said was around 25. Took me a full week with more than 40 hours of quilting. She got second place in the show she entered it in.
just saw your blog and i am *astounded*, in the best way. what you do is incredible!! :)
Thank you so much!
Reversible quilt for a friend’s soon-to-arrive new grandbaby. Mom-to-be asked for butterfly, meadow, natural, and the “inspiration” quilt had all the background fabrics coming to a point towards the focal center.
Fabric line is called Sunday Brunch and I used the whole line with a few Moda Grunge fabrics too. Already all coordinated for me from a fat quarter bundle I found at my local quilt shop.
The front background is completely pieced (I made my own paper pattern for that part). And then the butterflies and flowers are raw edge appliqué and were ironed on but then stitched down with the longarm.
The back of the quilt has a paper pieced butterfly in the center and 2.5” strips of all the leftover fabrics sewn on each side.
This quilt stalled out in the mail, on its way to me, for three months. And I’m so glad it finally got to me because custom quilting this was so much fun and the quilt itself is freaking fantastic!
First pic is the front of the quilt, second pic shows all the details from the back.
Fun little snowman quilt with yarn outlines
Fun little collage fish quilt with tiny diamond scales.

Oswald the Magnificent is currently doing a stint at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia. Last night when I went to see him, he had a second place and a special best ribbon. Today, when pics were sent to me, he has a Best In Show First Place. He’s looking pretty darn good displayed like that!
Finally quilted the one of a kind Lady of Lourdes quilt for Cyan and I am floored with how it turned out. Just need to trim and bind and get it shipped out to her!
Sometimes you need to custom quilt so you don’t stitch over things meant to be free. In this case a ton of prairie points! The quilting in this case is just to hold everything together and mimic movement.
Finished custom quilting this one today. In the bottom section, I quilted the words to You Are My Sunshine and the part where it says “you’ll never know dear how much I love you” is in glow in the dark thread. Turned out so cute!
This one feels like it’s been in the works forever, and it kind of has. First, I had a foundation paper pieced pattern made just for this quilt. Then I pieced all those little sections. And now I’m working on sewing all of the little sections into the bigger sections, which will then be the middle of the quilt. I still need to design what’s going on the left and right sides after the middle is pieced. But it’s starting to reveal what it will be. Sort of.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get a pic that actually showed the glow in the dark thread on the mushrooms, but I free motion quilted this one today. Pattern is by Legit Kits and available on their website. This is the second one I’ve quilted for this customer; last year’s was the Joan of Arc quilt.
I love the way that this turned out. Eight colors of thread in the background pebbling.
