Dia De Los Muertos 2k18

This was my first year officially celebrating I set up a small offrenda with a picture of my mama & papa hill, mi abluelita, my mom, y mi tio peta. I sat out a can of coke and an assortment of Halloween candy. As I lit there candle and flame flickered on their smiling faces I felt a sense of warmth as chills traveled through my body. I felt like they were happy and that they were here with me.

Later in the night I traded one of my candys with one off the offrenda (I’m terrible I know) but when I opened the candy it was broken into pieces just as if they had broken it to share it. Coincidence or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ but out of all the other candy I opened allllll weekend this was the only broken one.
