Macy’s you’re doing amazing sweetie.
calling all butch/stud/ag/tomboy/masc of center etc. lesbians!
eight months ago, after realizing that there’s virtually no real representation of masculine lesbians out there, i started this blog, @butchstudsubmit to feature masculine lesbians and create an online space for us to come together and celebrate ourselves! i was initially worried that no one would submit, but i was proven wrong as the submissions started to flood in and hundreds of people from around the world asked questions and sent resources to build up the space.
there is a deep history around what it means to be butch and stud that includes Stormé DeLarverie, a black butch lesbian, inciting the Stonewall rebellion, and Leslie Feinberg, a white butch lesbian, writing the groundbreaking novel Stone Butch Blues. Masculine lesbians have always been an integral part of the LGBT community, activist movements, and society at large, and yet it is often impossible for young masculine lesbians to find positive representations of themselves, with pretty much none of lesbian representation in media featuring masculine lesbians in a positive light.
Masculine lesbians face persecution for being of female experience, being gay, and being gender nonconforming, and often deal with intense isolation and loneliness, which have been written about frequently, with the first modern book representing a butch lesbian, Well of Loneliness, focusing on this experience
this is why it’s so important that publications like this, Butch is Not a Dirty Word, and DapperQ magazine amongst others exist and thrive! Our community is so important! We are here, we exist, and we are beautiful.
Please tell your friends and followers! You never know who really needs to see other people like themselves :)

Michelle is actually funnier than me. Mainly because she teases me, but I can’t tease her. (I think that’s fair.) I can’t say anything about her because she gets mad. (Nope, you can’t.) So I guess she’s funnier.
