The annual Stark Industries gala was in full swing. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting golden light over hundreds of influential guests. The air smelled of champagne, expensive colognes, and power.
Tony Stark, as always, was the main attraction. He moved through the crowd like he owned it — because he did. His black three-piece suit was tailored to perfection, and that signature smirk was firmly in place. Women kept approaching him. Some were subtle, some were bold. He was used to it. It had stopped being exciting years ago.
But then he saw you.
You were standing near the entrance in a striking deep red dress that flowed perfectly with every step. Elegant, confident, and breathtaking. Tony’s eyes lit up with familiar interest. He excused himself from the conversation he was barely listening to and started walking toward you, already preparing his opening line.
However, you didn’t look at him.
Not even once.
Your gaze was locked somewhere else. You walked straight past him, close enough that he caught the soft scent of your perfume, but you didn’t spare him a glance. Tony stopped in his tracks, blinking in surprise.
“Wait… did she just—?” he muttered under his breath.
You made your way directly to Pepper Potts, who was standing by the bar reviewing something on her tablet while still managing to look effortlessly graceful in a champagne-colored gown.
You stopped in front of her with a warm, genuine smile.
“Ms. Potts,” you said softly, your voice smooth and confident. “I’ve been watching you all evening. I had to come over and tell you that you look absolutely stunning. That dress was made for you.”
Pepper looked up, surprised. A small, flattered smile appeared on her lips.
“Thank you… that’s very kind of you.”
You took a small step closer, eyes never leaving hers.
“Kind? No. Honest. I’ve seen you handle rooms full of arrogant billionaires without breaking a sweat. You’re graceful, brilliant, and breathtaking. I couldn’t keep pretending I wasn’t completely captivated by you.”
Pepper let out a soft laugh, clearly caught off guard but enjoying it. Her cheeks gained a light rosy tint.
“You’re very direct,” she replied, tilting her head slightly.
“I believe in going after what I want,” you answered, your voice dropping just a little. “And tonight… I want to spend time with the most impressive woman in this room.”
Tony, who had slowly walked closer, was now standing just a few feet away, drink in hand, watching the scene with raised eyebrows and genuine disbelief.
He had seen people flirt with Pepper before, but never like this. Never so boldly and openly in front of him.
You continued, completely ignoring Tony’s presence:
“Between us… I’ve always admired you more than him,” you said with a playful smirk, subtly nodding toward Tony. “He may have the suit and the money, but you have the brains and the heart. That’s much more attractive.”
Pepper bit her lip, trying (and failing) to hide her smile. She glanced at Tony for a brief second, clearly amused by his stunned expression.
Tony finally cleared his throat loudly.
“Excuse me, ladies. I’m standing right here. In case you forgot I exist in my own building.”
You finally turned your head toward him. Your expression was polite, but cool and uninterested.
“Oh, hello, Mr. Stark,” you said calmly, then immediately turned back to Pepper as if he had been a passing waiter. “So, Pepper… would you like to step out onto the balcony with me? It’s getting a bit stuffy in here, and I’d love to talk to you somewhere quieter.”
Pepper hesitated for half a second, looking between you and Tony. The amusement in her eyes was obvious.
“I’d love to,” she answered, slipping her arm through yours.
As the two of you walked away, Tony stood frozen in the middle of the gala, glass in hand, watching you disappear with Pepper through the glass doors to the balcony.
Happy Hogan appeared beside him, also watching the scene.
“Boss… you okay?”
Tony let out a stunned laugh and shook his head.
“I just got completely ignored… and then my Pepper got stolen right in front of me.” He took a sip of his whiskey. “That’s a new one.”
He stared at the balcony doors for a long moment, a slow, genuine smile forming on his lips.
“Damn… I think I’m actually impressed.”
From the balcony, soft laughter could be heard. Your voice mixed with Pepper’s. Tony took another sip, eyes sparkling with a mix of amusement and intrigue.
Summary: Charlie's questioning his connection with Bella. You help him find a solution.

“Am I old?” Charlie leaned against the counter, taking a piece of carrot from the chopping board.
“Technically, you're older every minute-”
“Not what I meant.”
“I know what you meant. I understand.”
“Bella’s spending less and less time here. She’s always off with Edward.” Charlie growled Edward’s name as you moved towards the oven. Charlie moved up the counter to stand beside you.
“Charlie, she’s a teenage girl, experiencing a relationship for the first time. Things are new, intense and exciting. You and I both know what that feels like.”
“I feel it every day when I’m with you.” Charlie moved behind you, slowly wrapping his arms around your centre, holding you close, as he pressed a chaste kiss to the curve of your neck. “I just wish she’d balance her life better. Focus on school and setting herself up for the future.”
“Have you said any of this to her?” Charlie’s silence spoke volumes. “Of course not.”
“You can’t expect her to know what you’re thinking. Talk to her. Maybe she’ll listen, maybe she won’t, but someday in the future she’ll know you were there for her.”
“How did you find someone so beautiful and intelligent?”
“You persuaded me with cheesy chat-up lines and relaxed dinner dates.” A kiss to your cheek followed by another. You laughed as you leaned into it.
“I’ll try talking to her.”
“Good. I’ll make her some of those brownies she likes. It’ll help soften things.”
“Bribery with brownies. Sounds like a plan to me.”

He is insanely needy once he opens up to you. Hold you? His shadows are wrapping all around you any chance he can. Endlessly spouting angsty poetry about how much he loves you? This boy does it in his sleep. Will he watch you while you do anything around the house to keep you safe? Of course. Is it creepy? Maybe, but he means well by it, promise!
J | Jealousy: Do they get jealous? How do they handle insecurity or attention?
Skips gets jealous easily but he doesn't tell you when he does. It makes him feel bad when he gets jealous over things as simple as you thanking the other dateables when they help you around the house. You can always tell whenever he gets jealous though by the way all the shadows in the house try to surround you more than they normally do.

Obviously Skips calls you penumbra. He would also call you his life and his lover.

Very protective. Checks the entire house over constantly to make sure nothing is trying to hide in the shadows with the intent to harm you. Would turn you into shadows with him if he could to keep you safe with him forever.
Q | Quiet moments: How are they during quiet moments with their partner? Is it a peaceful silence or do they make it awkward somehow?
Skips is long used to being in silence with you before you got the dateviators. He feels no different about it after you get the dateviators.
S | Smooches: What are they kisses like? Where do they kiss their partner? Where do they like to be kissed?
He'll kiss you where he can get his lips. Will also tell you that whenever the shadows caress you it's him kissing you. Kisses you like it'll be the last time he ever gets to every time.
Adores it when you kiss him on his hands the most. He loves it wherever you kiss him don't get it wrong. But there's something special whenever you two are rp'ing with him in his Shadowlord form and you kneel down to kiss the back of his hands in worship.
U | Unwinding: How do they like to relax with their partner? How can their partner help them relax after a hard day?
A very big fan of parallel play with his partner—with or without the dateviators on. He'll also rp with you if it helps you relax.
Y | Yearning: Who misses the other the most? Can they be away from their partner for long?
This man is a yearner. He isn't shouting it to the rest of the house or anything in that manner. But the shadows always seem to stretch closer to you when you walk by, no matter how long it had been since you last talked.
Z | Zzz: What are their sleep habits like as a couple? Do they cuddle, sprawl, fall asleep mid-conversation?
As the embodiment of shadows Skips doesn't really need to sleep. But he'll lay down with you if you ask him too—you just have to be ok with the glow of his phone being there too.
