this year I’m thinking about going to university completely paperless, so only using my iPad for classes. Here’s what my home screen looks like, with all my essential apps;
Evernote is a fantastic way of taking notes, storing them into seperate virtual notebooks and editing them once I am home.
Scannable allows me to take pictures of documents and save them as high-quality pdf files, in Evernote. (talk about 21st centuary!)
Mail for my personal and university emails.
iBooks for saving pdfs and having a bit of on-the-go reading with ebooks
Duolingo is every language-learner’s best friend.
Lingvist is a fabulous app for practising French vocabulary.
Word Reference has never seen me wrong when it comes to looking up vocab or explaining how to conjugate tricky verbs.
Quizlet helps me make my own digital flashcards.
Calendar for trying to organise my life.
Dropbox is where my family keep our photos.
Youtube for looking up educational videos (ie slacking off)
Instagram for all those selfies.
Ancestry is where I’m proud to have created my family tree with over 700 entries dating back to the 1800s.
Netflix for obvious reasons.
Clock because this is an integrated world clock/alarm/stopwatch/timer.
Games for my downtime. My games folder includes my favourite Nimblebit simulation games Pocket Trains and Pocket Planes, the iPad version of ‘Papers, Please’ a hilarious border-control game and my iPad version of Hearthstone, a card game by Blizzard (makers of World of Warcraft)
Apple Stuff and Settings are all the things I don’t use but can’t delete.
all my social media and social apps are along the bottom, these include Facebook, Twitter, iMessage, Facebook Message and my beloved Tumblr.
does anyone have any advice on other good apps I could get?!
