It’s the spooky season this week, right? And what is it they say, villains have more fun? 

We’re getting pretty inspired by our favorite scary movies this week and had a little fun: some 80s prep inspiration that wouldn’t be out of place at Camp Crystal Lake (but keep off the archery course), sunglasses fit for a Hellraiser, denim and leopard for a thriller of a night out, and Freddy Kreuger’s favorite color combo topped with a fedora. It’s a little cheeky, and a little bold - which, for us, is really what this costume season is all about.

This October doesn’t quite feel like the back-to-school, grab-your-peacoat Autumn of our New England dreams. Usually the weather gets it together and stops feeling like Summer by the end of September, and when it doesn’t, outfitting can be tricky. What do we say? Do what you want: keep your lighter pieces alive and well and throw on some ankle boots to make the transition easier! 

Who needs black when you can have layers of navy? Keep your lace going as an intentional choice about mixing textures. A cropped pant is just an on-trend culotte in disguise, especially when you add a high boot underneath. And when all else fails, go full 70s, since those babes knew how to mix chiffon and fur. 

Most important, relish these no-tights days for as long as you possibly can. We’ll miss you, summertime.
