Ben couldn’t help himself as the small smile on his face grew at her playful nature and wink. Something about her was just so warm and infectious. He found himself straightening up to a proper posture towering at his 6”5 and giving a polite small clap. “Bravo bravo.” He chuckled and then paused for a moment, wanting desperately to maintain the conversation some how. “So tell me Viv, what do you do when you’re not busy being the The Coffee Prince?” Hoping beyond hope that she’d want to stay and talk with him, even after he’d caused her an inconvenience.

His next question had her changing up her stance. One palm to the counter and another on her hip, she tried using her years of pretending to see if the man was, himself. “Either you’re pretendin’ not to recognize me or ya really don’t have a clue about my work… I’m flattered wither way.” The blonde then admitted. It was nice to be treated like a normal human being for a change than some super duper celebrity all the time. “I mostly play dress up. That’s probably the best description I can say of what I’m good at.” The woman chuckled up at him. “What I do when I’m not gettin’ paid is mainly whatever strikes my fancy. I can’t really say I’m the sit still homebody type. What about yourself? Same question.” Equally intrigued of him as he was of her.

He shrugged and gave a small deep chuckle, “well I did recognise you. But if someone came up to me and said ‘hey you’re that construction worker aren’t you?’ And just talked like they knew about me...I’d find it kind of creepy. So luckily I don’t get that, but a beautiful celebrity like you...” He slowly started to blush and clear is throat, “I didn’t mean that, well I did but I uh, I just mean, it’s probably an occupational thing.” He abruptly shut his mouth and looked over the counter praying his drink would come soon so he could have an excuse to shut up and stop making an idiot of himself. Finally composing himself he added. “Yeah, I’m just a construction worker. I’d hate to have an office job I’m always moving about.” He added a big smile.

Finally catching his breath from being embarrassed he looked down at the woman and was taken back. She was stunning. He gave a nervous chuckle trying to play it cool “uh yeah, that’s fair enough” he stretched a hand out to shake her hand, “I’m Benjamin, but you can call Ben.” He gave a smile regaining some confidence. “Do I get your name? Or should I just call you ‘Prince in shining armour? I’m not sure of the protocol, this is my first time as damsel in distress.” He gave a laugh and rocked back on his feet. 

Her hand took his and she gave a rather firm shake. A squeeze that said she was here as she was, take it or leave it, as she’d done ever since she was a child. “Prince in shining armor? Oh, please, no. It’s clearly just The Coffee Prince. I wish I had some armor, though. How badass would that be? Not very functional, though.” A warm laugh came out melodically from her throat. “Well, Ben, I’m Vivian, but I prefer Viv or Vivi, sometimes Vi, even, if you’re in a rush.” The playful explanation bringing about a wink to round it out. “First time, huh? In that case, I’m quite honored.” She went through the theatrics of a small bow. A fully lavished one impossible in the crowded space.

What's a fragrance that holds a strong memory for you?

“Chocolate chip cookies. We never had much money growing up. After a lot of the big football games the other boys would go out, and I could never really afford it. But after every big game of football, didn’t matter if we won or not. I’d get home to the smell of freshly baked chocolate cookies and we’d watch a movie. Its something I'll always hold onto.”

What do you consider to be your best and worst trait?

“My worst trait is that I tend to get aggressively protective. I’ve been in more than a couple fights from guys getting too handsy with my sister.

My best trait, I don’t know. I like to think I’m a pretty warm guy. Someone people find it easy to talk to.”

Ben turned to the woman and opened his mouth to object but quickly shut it. His mother didn’t raise an idiot, he knew there was no changing her mind. She recognized that look and tone. He looked over at the employee and added, “never mind, that black nitro brew would be great.” He flashed a smile before looking back at the woman. “you didn’t have to do that. But thank you, I really appreciate it.” he scratched the back of his neck before adding, “I owe you though, is there some way I can pay you back?”

After they were ushered to the waiting portion of the counter, the actress got a chance to take in the man before her. Wow, he was incredibly tall– and handsome. He had what she thought to be very kind eyes. A feature that had her smile branch out more widely. “Think nothin’ of it. Ya can start by tellin’ me your name, though, while we wait.” She was always up for some good conversation and the man had potential for such a thing. Not a bad way to wait for coffee, if you asked her.

What do you consider to be your ideal type of lady?

“Definitely someone outgoing. To me confidence is one of the sexiest things. Someone who’s kind and caring, who will laugh at my stupid jokes. A girl who’s not afraid to eat. I’ve dated girls who only eat salad. I want someone who’s happy to eat some pizza and burgers with me sometimes. And basically just someone I can feel a connection with. Bonus points if they’re attractive.”

What's the weirdest cupcake flavor you've had that actually was really good?

“Hmm I don’t really eat weird cupcakes, but I guess I’d have to say the Bourbon BLT cupcake. It had bourbon covered bacon bits and cherry tomatos baked in and fresh lettuce on top... I ate 7.”

To say that Ben had been having a tough week was an understatement. The construction crew he worked for was in the process of renovating and extending a skyscraper. What should be an easy enough job has been nothing but a head ache as the owner keeps making more an more demands. Some of them just don’t even make sense, just some big CEO trying to give orders on something he knows nothing about. But, because of these demands Ben had worked over time almost everyday this week which is why more so than usual he needed coffee.

When he walked into the cafe he was hit with the beautiful aroma of coffee he couldn’t help the tired smile as he joined the line. Despite it being busy the line moved rather quickly and when he got up to the front he flashed a grin before asking for a large black coffee. He reached into his back pocket to pull out his wallet, but he couldn’t feel it. His smile quickly dropped as he felt his other pockets. He must of looked like an idiot patting his pockets for several times and even his chest. “Ahh shit!” He exclaimed a little louder than intended. “I’m so sorry, i uh, scratch that. No coffee for me thanks.” He awkwardly added, mentally kicking himself as he went to turn away.

Needing her daily dosage of bean juice, the blonde had gone to one of her many spots around the vast city. She’d had an early script meeting and now, she needed to re-energize. Adjusting her simple tee, she took to oocupying her time in line by staring at the menu. She knew which drink she wanted, but she was debating if she should get herself a little food treat. Maybe a muffin? They look like they have apple cinnamon, hm… 

The exclamation mad her blink, pulling her from her thoughts to the man in front of her. It was hard not to eves drop. Sympathy taking over her, she took to stepping up with a smile and casual gesture to the towering man. “Uhm, hi.” Directing her talk to the man behind the counter, first. “He’ll have whatever he ordered and I’ll take a large bubble iced coffee with one of those apple muffins, please.” Her tone was friendly with an underlying layer that commanded the order be placed, whether the stranger were to protest or not as she fished out her own wallet from her bag. One of her cards taken out to swipe for the purchase.

“Oh, crap!” Mia muttered. It was yet another morning where she’d almost spilled her iced coffee on a stranger. “I’m so, so, sorry about that. I’m such a klutz.” She admits now standing awkwardly in front of the other. “Are you sure it didn’t get on you?”

“Woah” Ben let out as he quickly side stepped. He knew full well if she’d run into him she’d be the one that gets hurt. HE threw his hands in the air and smiled “hey, hey you’re all good. Not a drop on me. Look,” He added the last bit as he playfully did a twirl. Trying to lighten the mood and get her to smile. “Are you okay though?”

The Bio

Benjamin was born on the 22nd of September to a working class family. His father was a labourer and his mother was canteen lady. 

He is the oldest of four, and when he has always been protective of his family especially after the sudden and tragic death of his father who was in a freak accident at work when Ben was 14.

At the age of 14 he lied about his age so he could get a job and help his mum with the bills. At an early age he had to step up and become the man of the house.

Ben hated school, at first he only went because it was illegal not too. But then he started playing football and fell in love with the sport. By the time he graduated he was playing varsity football and had two jobs. 

He was offered a football scholarship with the Texas Longhorns. But he turned it down to stay and help his family.

He has always been an outgoing and adventurous guy, just the thought of an office  job makes him squirm, which is why he went an got a job in construction.

Now that his mum is retired and all his siblings have moved out he feels less pressure. But, still likes to help her out as much as he can.
