Instagram Logotype

Mackey Saturday, a Denver-based graphic designer had the opportunity to create the new logotype for Instagram. The old logotype was based on the Billabong font, a retro handlettered script font. This typeface is inspired by 1940s and 1950s script headings with rather free handwritten letters.

CLORINDO TESTA (1923 - 11 de Abril de 2013)

Nacido en Nápoles en diciembre de 1923, es considerado el más artista de los arquitectos consagrados de la Argentina. Sus restos serán velados desde esta tarde en la Sociedad central de Arquitectos y despedidos mañana en el cementerio de la Recoleta.

Arribó a Buenos Aires cuando tenía menos de un año y desde pequeño se interesó por el diseño y la construcción. Formó parte de la primera camada de arquitectos de la nueva Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, en 1948, luego de un breve paso por la carrera de ingeniería electromecánica.

A partir de allí, sus obras lo convertirían en un ícono de la arquitectura y la cultura en nuestro país. Entre sus diseños más conocidos figuran también el Hospital Naval, el Di Tella y el balneario La Perla, en Mar del Plata.

Testa, vestido siempre con trajes de varias millas y con la vista fija en la ciudad a través de sus anteojos de marco grueso, había trabajado en su estudio de Santa Fe y Callao hasta hace pocas semanas. Su avanzada edad le impidió seguir.

Reconocido por obras como la Biblioteca Nacional, el Banco de Londres y el Centro Cultural Recoleta. Durante su extensa y exitosa trayectoria fue distinguido con el Primer Premio Nacional de Pintura del Banco Central y el Premio Konex de Platino, entre otros. Además fue Doctor Honoris Causa de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y ciudadano ilustre de Buenos Aires desde el 2006. Formaba parte de la Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes desde 1976.
