❛ uh… it’s tuesday, isn’t it? ❜
blair purposefully leaves out the fact that it’s her birthday. hopefully if cody thought that she forgot, then he won’t bring it up. hopefully.
❝ Yeah, nice try, Blair Bear. Y’think you’d realize I don’t fall for that by this point. ❞
The hunter can’t help but to crack a HUGE grin; he’s had his arms behind his back since he entered the room, but he’s now moved them to the front, into view. Within his hands sat a small box. He knew that Blair didn’t want gifts -- she never did, but he just couldn’t help himself. She was his sister, after all; it was natural to think of her on her birthday, and he always broke the ‘no presents’ rule. Always.
❝ -- It’s nothing big. Promise. ❞
Big and expensive were two different things, however. -- Inside the box sat a small ring with three stones in it. -- Each stone was the birthstone of each Saunders sibling. The box also had a gift card taped to the bottom of it, but that wasn’t the important part. -- Cody had saved his money for months in order to be able to buy her the ring. ---- Just in time for her birthday, too.
❝ Isn’t it awesome? Look at how the stones catch the light. Happy birthday, sis. ❞
