I've recently come to terms with the fact that I'm non-binary and there's honestly something really freeing about being able to finally identify with the gender that I'm comfortable with but there's also this fear that comes with it.

I've struggled with my gender identity for a while (since like 2020) and I actually identified as transmasc for a while and openly used he/him and she/her pronouns in all my socials, but after a while I realized that no one ever really used my he/him pronouns and because I'm extremely femme presenting, I feel like people disregarded my gender identity most of the time.

At some point, it felt like I was being peer pressured to just identify as something that people grasped more easily? Like I was struggling with explaining to new people I met my identity because I felt judgement because I didn't pass as a guy and I'm not androgynous and I have no desire to transition physically that socially transitioning into my identity felt really nerve-wracking... Not to mention the fact that I don't know how people will react, you know?

It's hard already that I'm attached to my legal name because of the history behind it (like how my parents chose the name means a lot to me), so I don't think I'll ever change it either... But I don't want people to call me that name, I don't want to use that name unless it's in legal documents either. (Also it's convenient keeping my life on social media and personal matters separate, so that's a benefit).

And I was also struggling with accepting my identity because it was so hard getting into relationships and I was extremely scared of being faced with bigotry or for my identity to be disregarded that I thought it'd just be easier if I was cis and identified as a woman.

Obviously, looking back at it now, I was just really scared. And experiencing some internalized transphobia of some kind and that I was holding myself back from fully embracing who I really am.

Anyway, I'm actually really happy that I'm able to identify as non-binary, even if I still have worries and even if I'm still scared.

There isn't really any specific reason I made this post? I guess I just wanted to share my worries and how, now, I've finally embraced my identity and who I am. I'm really happy.

I just realized.

My favorite show ever in the world is Criminal Minds. I watched all the seasons of said show. I even have a document for it. It is a stressful show, but apparently not more stressful than the Pitt cuz the Pitt stresses me out so much I genuinely had to stop watching Season Two because it was detrimental to my health I'm crying 😭
