I was thinking, what did I used to do on this website? When I remembered that I would write long ass posts about overly specific shit when no one I knew cared about it so I had no outlet for it. Honestly this still sounds like a useful thing to me in 2023 lmao

Short story collections are evil because I am STILL searching for an Iemitsu one that both had a Gundam AU and a really vile reincarnation story with significantly older Ieyasu and younger Mitsunari. It involved licking sand off of his bare feet and I still get a disgusted chilled feeling like nails on a chalkboard when I think about it, really want to read that cursed fanfic again.
This is exactly the kind of fanfic I lose sight of but always want to read again omg I'm talking about the Hazama/Jin short story on page 2, it's gold. Also possibly the only sfw Hazajin that's really left an impression (also shockingly not an AU) Basically it ends with Hazama at the end of a time loop and he wanders into Jin's empty office now that he's fallen into the cauldron. He's just chilling in his chair remembering the look on Jin's face when he realized Hazama was the enemy (I mean obviously they had been dating until then Kappa) when he notices a little drawer in his desk. And its filled with the little work memos Hazama wrote on documents he had turned into Jin and this actually shocks Hazama despite the fact that he's experienced so many time loops by now, and he never had any idea Jin was keeping them. It's so nice and understated and I love it, ends without mentioning anything he's feeling but he just stayed there paralyzed for a while.
Trapped by Scent (Hazama/Jin, NSFW) This is how I really fell into Hazajin hell, because I love this fanfic. It's so atmospheric and creepy, and it was the first time this author hit me with the last page of the story dropping a reveal that made me actually shout and put my phone down. I've since read basically everything they write, and always look out for the little details they throw out as hints, but they still get me on at least one thing every time. And I am addicted to that feeling I guess. I just love how brutal their Hazama is. This one is about Jin who followed Ragna into the mountains since he never came back home. He wakes up in Hazama's house, who tells him he had fallen off a ledge and hurt himself when Hazama found him. Hazama lives in the mountains because he makes scents for perfumes/incense/aromatherapy stuff. He makes Jin this special incense that lets him sleep really deeply because it reminds him of his brother, and then he also has lewd dreams about Ragna doing horrible things to him. Personally from that setup I did assume that Hazama was using the incense and drugged food to do said horrible things to Jin without him knowing and keeping him weak so he couldn't leave. But then they hit me with the reveal that Hazama had previously found Ragna and killed him, and the scent was literally made from Ragna's body. And man, that's fucked. 10/10.
Once More, Before it Falls Dark (Ieyasu/Mitsunari, NSFW) Oh hell yeah, this is one of the primary fanfic masterpieces in my collection lol. It's long but worth it. Basically it's a modern day reincarnation story but Mitsunari is blind and remembers his past life (Ieyasu red route stuff) while Ieyasu has no memories. He just sees Mitsunari one day, falls in love, and follows him like a creeper until he sneaks his way into being like a caretaker for him. It has a pretty hilarious scene where they get romantic for the first time because something spills on Ieyasu and he needs to change his shirt, and he grabs Mitsunari's hand and makes him feel his abs because he feels inferior after always being compared to his Sengoku era self and wants to show off. I love that kid. Also makes me smile because he thinks Mitsunari is hot but basically crazy as he doesn't believe the reincarnation business until his friends Motochika and Masamune tell them they have memories too. There's a nice reveal at the end and it has a really happy ending. Ieyasu is also right at that problematic sweet spot where he enjoys the thought of how dependent Mitsunari is on him and how helpless he would be if Ieyasu were to take away his cane or move stuff around in his house. Dang, that's fucked, but it's pretty lowkey and nothing bad really happens in this fic. It's pretty wholesome all things considered.
An Unlucky Man (Ieyasu/Mitsunari) I'm trying to track down my millions of senbasa fics I want to remember. I often go back to this series because it's short and just kind of sublime to me for some reason. It's an AU where Mitsunari and Motochika are brothers and Mitsunari is telling him about how he met Ieyasu and later asking for romance advice. I love it because it's pretty normal and light stuff with just a tiny hint of Ieyasu being problematic such as wishing he'd done more of a favor when he first met Mitsunari so he would be more in his debt. Also it has that nice side of Chikanari I live for.
Reading this fanfic was what made me want to write fanfic records because it blew my mind. If you can read Japanese I recommend reading this even if you don’t give a shit or know anything about Blazblue, it’s an AU and honestly really just an amazing short story, doesn’t even need to be a fanfic. You might say that’s a failing as a fanfic, but this is just an awesome story to me.
It’s a really eerie and atmospheric story about Hazama the anglophile eccentric merchant who buys the Kisaragi house from the failing aristocratic family during the Meiji era. It had me at that aesthetic tbh
Rambling/summary continues
Basically his family sold Jin to Hazama along with the house (nice, guys) and at first he is pretty harmless but weird, he pays for Jin to keep going to school and just demands that they eat together. He replaces all the furniture with Western stuff except for Jin’s room and starts setting up greenhouses because he grows a shit ton of white flowers. I have to admit I’ve read like everything this author has written and I still kind of expected this could be a kind of problematic but still romance setup for a fanfic but HOO boy this one got me good
Jin’s friends are suspicious he’s in danger, so they decide to all go on vacation to get him out of the house for a while. Hazama agrees but then the night before, Jin falls down the staircase, breaking his collar bone and both legs. Kagura (Jin’s school friend) is again highly suspicious and comes to visit with a wheelchair planning to run off with Jin but he can’t because of the severity of his injured collar bone. He leaves them the wheelchair and is smart enough not to accept poisoned coffee from Hazama (this has a fucking excellent semi-reveal with Jin just quietly noticing half the water is gone from a flower he had mentioned was so poisonous the water it sits in could kill a man, after Hazama throws the coffee away rather than letting Jin have it instead).
Despite living with a lowkey creeper and constantly dreaming about things like getting stabbed and having fish eating his feet, Jin doesn’t seem particularly worried. Until one day his stomach is feeling awful so he doesn’t drink his after dinner tea, instead pouring it into a pitcher while Hazama is gone so it’s easier for the servants to clean up. He can’t sleep that night so he hobbles on his crutches to the attached bathroom next to his room, only to hear the door to his room opening. When he hears the person leaving he comes back and finds an abandoned easel and Hazama’s sketchbook, which is filled with drawings of him sleeping. Understandably spooked, he tries to get downstairs to the phone to call for help. Hazama finds him at the top of the stairs and starts asking him when he figured it out, etc, thinking that Jin intentionally threw out the tea because he realized it was drugged. His other personality Terumi pops out laughing violently when he realizes Jin still had no idea what had been going on the whole time. Again seriously spooked, Jin drops one of his crutches and it goes falling down the stairs.
There’s honestly the spookiest thing I’ve read in a fanfic where Jin is trying to get away while Hazama calmly walks after him while conversing cheerily with Terumi. Jin manages to get into Hazama’s room and lock the door behind him, wedging his crutch under the knob. Hazama unlocks it quickly and then is using brute force to get the door open, while Terumi is getting violently angry and Hazama is being calmly passive aggressive. Jin tries to call Kagura from Hazama’s phone, but drops the receiver before he can pick up, and Hazama gets in the room. Honestly this fanfic may be NSFW but it does cut away before anything really happens in any detail. The next morning Kagura calls back and Hazama answers the phone while sitting with Jin who is totally immobile and can’t make any noise, which is also a really chilling and awesome scene.
Honestly I am just super fucking into this fanfic because it has nothing that is romantic or sexy from a normal perspective, it’s more like Hazama implying “be good or I’ll break your legs again” while licking Jin’s feet and that is just we weird and perfect to me. 10/10 will read again
This isn't even really a play, it has a loose fictional setting of a bunch of guys getting together for a house warming party. They technically all have character names and settings like jobs, but the names are just one sound off from the actor's stage names and everyone forgot their character's jobs (lol). It was a setup for improv and otherwise just everyone lounging around in casual clothes and slippers. They're reacting to texts they're receiving from a "stalker" who can see inside the room somehow. So they ask questions and give prompts and everyone just accepts it.
I was totally into it, especially since Kimeru's hair is really great right now, he grew it out to the ideal length for me. His character's name was Hime which is pretty adorable. The most memorable segment was when the messenger asked them "What would you do if you ran into your attractive next door neighbor and noticed her fly was open?" so the members who said they would tell her had to present how they would do it. They switched turns playing the neighbor and everyone who did actually unzipped their pants rather than just miming it and everyone lost it when they noticed the first guy did because he looked so smug about it, this was irrationally hilarious to me. The best was honestly the guy whose example was to unzip his own pants really obviously and then shout "Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house" and leave. Kimeru was also in the "tell her" camp but he showed what he really would do in the situation which was smooth and considerate.
Yamagi Ren was the guest that night and also the only other actor I knew (sorry) which was great, I love him because you really can never tell if he is being oblivious to be funny or not. I'm pretty sure he just goes out there and is his authentic self. The whole Dandy's Talk thing is a version of Boy's Talk with actors over 30 btw. Also I realized towards the end that they were absolutely actually drinking something from the beer cans I thought were props, cannot confirm if beer or not but I would not be shocked from how wild the improv got.
I wanted to go back but it is a pretty pricey show :( so I couldn't justify it, even though I imagine each night was super different. Especially since there is a segment where they answer letters audience members can write before the show (Ren was reading the letters but he legit needed help reading and I cried) Also an interesting feature was an extra extra premium ticket class which was literally seats set up on the stage. You had to agree you wouldn't try to leave to go to the bathroom once the show started if you wanted these tickets. I find this hilarious and terrifying. Honestly, kind of wanted to try but it was sold out when I remembered to buy my ticket. At one point an actor got off stage and singled out a girl in the front row and did a kind of "kabe don" thing to her and everyone was really surprised, Kimeru had this horrified look on his face and I can absolutely imagine him sharing how he disapproved later. (and I heard some girls on the way out saying how they thought it was inconsiderate too actually) but other than that despite being on stage there wasn't much audience involvement.
