Signs read: "Clemen's Cafe. Air Conditioned, Clemen's Coffee Shop. Hoy's Market, Fine Meats. Funeral Parlor, Cahill, Furniture Store."

The year was 1939. The location was Beale Street and S. Second Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee.

The sign says: "131. We buy old gold, silver, shotguns, electric fans, luggage, clothing, radios, tools and anything of value. We repair watches, jewelry, clocks and guns. We fix crystals on watches while-u-wait. Cash for old gold & silver. Luggage-musical-instruments-watches and jewelry. Watch repairing."
