Hope u doing fine, also I wanted to ask, how do you practice drawing heads or poses? Do you use any kind of references or sites?
Yes, I do! Especially for the faces, I use blender, where I have a rough head sculpt I modeled/sculpted myself for most of my characters (the reoccurring ones at least) just to make sure I keep the features consistent (Absolutely crucial for the comics!). Since I tend to just add more and more characters it is a big help to have a consistent reference from all angles. (Those headshot collections I post from time to time are usually the result of me “testing” if the 3D reference actually looks correct when drawn)
Hooowever, it also has become a little of a problem relying on them because some are quite old and a bit wonky proportion and perspective wise, so relying on them reintroduces mistakes i keep having to reforget :’) (And it's like, I want to redo them, but time) (But I am currently back doing Blender stuff, starting again with a bigger learning project. Maybe something neat will come of it)
Otherwise, I have a lot of Stock photo sets / drawing references I purchased from Art station!
And Pinterest is a nice source too!
I try to use more references now, to make that a consistent point in my process, because I had become a little wibbly wobbly about it. And frankly, especially right now, as I have SO little time and or energy to actually draw, I feel my drawing ability rust like crazy. It really is a muscle that works best if you keep doing it regularly.
At leats for me it seems :’)
Thanks for the question! ✨
