darlingmarla:
Giggling, as if her words were serious, Marla was grateful that he couldn’t see the blush across her cheeks. God, how she’d missed him, something sentimental whispered in the back of her mind. Someone to hold and take care of, and yet, just like when they were children, he could still throw her off the usual facade she had built, knocking away the sensual, luxurious woman she’d become and returning her to the awkward, freckled little girl she had been under all the makeup.
She’d scarcely taken off her glasses since he’d returned.
“Aye, n’ what if I do, Beanie? What then? Would ye– ah, shite! The tea!” Scrambling, then, she moved quickly, almost toppling again over the roomba, as she rushed to the suddenly screaming teapot.
“Look what ye did, Bean!” She laughed. “Ye distracted me n’ almost made me burn the water!”
He was staring up at her now, barely blinking and he was wondering what question she would ask when the teapot whistled from the next room, and Marla cut herself off mid sentence. What would she have said? Bean furrowed his brows, silently cursing the teapot. But then he was letting out a snort at her ridiculous statement.
“Wha’? Marls ye cannae burn water, it’s impossible,” Bean managed to get out in between laughter. He was glad that he had managed to find the girl again, as well as her twin; he had never been so relaxed and the pair knew just the right amount of independence to give him.
“Are ye gonna be okay? Do ye need a hand?” he asked, pausing to snicker more. “Ye might burn the tea tae love.”
