âFucking Melinoe.â
âIt wasnât against my will... I just, didnât get the whole story first.â

âPomegranates donât count as good food.â
âI wouldnât know. I havenât tried them.â
beautifulnightmvre:
âWell Mom and Dad came here. And like letâs be real, a change of scenery is nice. I think youâll like it. Thereâs good food.â
âWe had good food back home.â

âNew Orleans, Louisiana,â he replied calmly as we wait for Cillian to come to him. âCillian, how did you even get here?â
âThatâs.. the thing. I was brought here.â

âThereâs no need to worry weâll figure it out.â
âYou sound so sure.â

âSheâs always hard at work when it comes to thoseâŠâ Persephone replied, her tone more understanding than it had been before he offered his explanation. That didnât mean she was any less concerned for her son, or for what this incident would mean for Melinoe as a mother either. âCome on, lets get you out of here.â she insisted gently. âIâm just glad youâre alright, Cillian.â
âIâm alright,â he reassured, never wanting to worry her. He took a few steps toward her, extending a hand hesitantly toward her. âIâm glad youâre here.âÂ
theirhorror:
âthereâs no point apologising, what are you going to do about it ?â clocking his movement, she took a few steps forwards herself â unintentionally threatening.Â
hearing her approach, he locked his knee -- a show that he was going to stand his ground. âthereâs nothing i can do,â he explained, trying to sound strong.
theirhorror:
âeither way our fate is written in the stars.â she smiled. âyouâre taking this very seriously.â
âi was always told i was too serious.. losing my sight didnât exactly help it, either.â
ttaintedlove:
âOf course she did.â Persephone mused, shaking her head gently at the news of her daughters antics. âI suppose she left you here⊠She always was a tad forgetful. Always running before she can walk.â she added as she stood beside her adoptive son, looking him over. âAre you alright?â
âShe was working on nightmares.â It wasnât clear as to why he felt the need to stick up for Melinoe in such a way. Perhaps he feared her wrath, if it came back to her that he had said something against her? Who could know for sure. âYeah, Iâm fine. A little cold, I guess?â The wet bayou of New Orleans was unlike the more dry cool that the Underworld was. He felt sticky, and uncomfortable.
beautifulnightmvre:
âSounds good to me.â
As promised, he followed some ways behind, relying on his other senses to maneuver his way over the unfamiliar terrain. âWhy are we in New Orleans?â he asked. He knew that it was practically the new Greece, what with all the gods congregating and the creatures that resided there, but he meant them specifically -- him.
ttaintedlove:
persephone had grown accustomed to interacting with the supernatural inhabitants of new orleans, though, she was slightly perplexed to see this particular creature out and about. âcillian.â she acknowledged, walking over to him. âwhat a pleasant surprise.â
âMelinoë brought me,â he stammered. It was less of a âtattletaleâ and more of a rushed explanation to who he would have to consider his adoptive mother, or alpha, in the case of centaur herds.Â
beautifulnightmvre:
âWhat do you want? I can get you a salad or something if you want,â MelinoĂ« asked. âDo you think itâd be easier for you to like hold my hand or something? Itâd kind of suck if you got lost. I donât think dad would be to happy with me.â
âI can hear your footsteps. Just.. warn me if you have to walk over something?â His stride was longer than hers anyway, so his cautious stepping wouldnât be much of a setback. âA salad is fine. Maybe some fruit, too?â
beautifulnightmvre:
âFine.â
Hooves kicked up some dirt as he shuffled toward her. He didnât like the idea of exploring a city he wasnât familiar with.. with a sister he couldnât quite count on.
beautifulnightmvre:
âWeâre in New Orleans. Donât worry, I wonât leave you anywhere again. Are you hungry? I can go get us something to eat.â
âYouâre taking me with you,â was all the colt said, sharp and with a soft huff.
beautifulnightmvre:
âI said Iâd be right back. I got distracted, there was some prime nightmare material, I couldnât let it go to waste.â
âWhere did you take me, Melinoe? Where is this?â
theirhorror:
âthe damage is already done.â
the centaur was becoming quite upset. he stepped back a few times, a flight response surging through him. âi-iâm sorry,â he reiterated.
theirhorror:
âfighting isnât always the answer.â
âwhen itâs for survival. or your pride...â despite the wording, cillian wasnât referring to violence in particular. no, he was referring to more of a determination centric battle.
