When it was necessary
Berserk is about letting things. If something happened in the past let it be.
Guts left The band of The Hawk and felt good about it. He’s travelling the world and fighting for himself.
Godos monologue about the sparks is key to understanding Miuras thoughts. In his interviews he said “I like to draw. I am absorbed by that and can’t let it go” pretty much the swordsmith’s words isn’t it?
The Eclipse happened because he turned back and saved the psycho Griffith. In reality the cold mastermind was a fragile vase, it smashed after an impact of his own decisions. Letting Guts be on his own and giving him a hand when necessary he raised him a free man, but wasn’t ready to acknowledge him as a free man.
Guts was born from a dead woman’s corpse. His step mom Shisu died of plague when the boy was three years old. Gambino raised him as a battle unit, not a kid or at least human being. But that’s the reality of the time.
At age eleven Gambino decided to kill a poor boy to compensate for his lost leg, and died himself but gave an idea “You should die, you demon kid” to a scared kid who absorbed like a sponge the idea of his uselessness.
Then he met Griffith and the band, because of the freedom he got from the leader, the white hawk, he made himself a guy strong enough to lead men and to be the finest battle unit in The band. Griffith, like Gambino, viewed Guts as a tool and the latest scene of episode twenty five was about that. The pose of Guts while the rape of Casca was the embodiment of “Know your place”
And in the episode where Guts decided to go away (episode nineteen) we, for first time, hear Griffiths thoughts and he said “If i am not gonna have him, so I’ll kill him and nobody will have, because he is mine”
Griffith sacrificed the band because everyone in the band was a tool to get a kingdom and his words “If i’m gonna kill you during achieving my dream, why can’t I sacrifice you now?” Of course he was hesitating at first, but the feeling of impunity for his decisions made him become Femto.
That’s the curse of all leaders to view friends as a tool, but one is deciding himself to be an ambitious leader. So no mercy in the attention of them. Alexander The Great, Julius Caesar, Napoleon – they were leaders and lost their mind at the end of their roads, but ALexander understood his mortal being and asked the famous paymans for his burials.
Caesar was stabbed by a friend, Napoleon exiled to a small island and died betrayed.
I think that Griffith’s destiny is to be left alone in the end. Because that much he irritated the universe and its laws.
We all wanted this fighters to meet each other.
The new champion is born! Makunouchi Ippo defeated Sendo Takeshi and became the most interesting featherweight Japanese Champion! Nobody left the stadium indifferent.
From Sendo’s perspective it was an opportunity for a rematch for the “All Japan Rookie Championship”, where he lost by TKO. Makunouchi is the challenger, but the story behind it is also thrilling.
Ippo triumphantly won his match against Korean fighter after his first loss in his career to the champion Date Eiji. During whole match Sendo was there also. And, at the end, gave him the present. In his usual manner, after Makunouchi’s started to celebrate the victory, he took the microphone and challenged him to have a fight in near future. Ippo agreed and the story begins. Everyone was eager to see Ippo’s new killing move — the Dempsey Roll — again.
Dempsey Roll – created by Jack Dempsey, and improved by Cus D’Amato — is a perfect weapon in Makunouchi’s hands. The speed and power were monotonously improved and mastered by boy, and, oh boy, I wouldn’t want to fill that rain of fists. Someone can remember Hayami Ryūichi’s shotgun… but I will ignore that.
This fight, despite being the most anticipated title match, gave us an amazing experience of thrilling presence in the clash. If you ask me to prove it with one word, I will be happy to pronounce exactly one single word - Lallapallooza!!
Burn Up!! A Close Intense Super-Fierce Battle!
The stadium was rumbling. Fans were tumbling. From all sides, noises were heard and one couldn’t think or look away. I am happy to live and be the witnessed one of what happened today to write about it right after the fight.
It was the most bone chilling and the most fierce moment during the war of endurance and persistence.
Ippo and Takeshi were taking the killing punches one after another. The god’s themselves gave them the right to decide everything.
Their punches are destructive!
The reason behind Sendo’s loss was the perseverance of Makunouchi (even though Sendo was superior in power and endurance).
He even downed Makunouchi for a couple of times and placed fear inside his heart. And plus, people from Osaka came here to cheer their champion. And Sendo felt the weight of burden. By all said, nobody expected Makunouchi to win, the sudden bark of a dog inside the stadium awakened him from “coma”, security officers couldn’t find the animal, but it made this article come out, so thank you sir, master of the dog, your pet made the kid’s story.
Thought it was sad for Sendo, but he fought great, and Makunouchi was great too. His new technique — Dempsey Roll showed his effectiveness, combined with Makunouchi’s destructive power. Sendo’s smashes was fearsome but not enough.
We hope for Sendo's comeback and will cheer for Makunouchi in his future fights.
Red Head Sweat Heart🥰
Vorg is a crush.
At first, I couldn't say precisely when, but I thought he was chubby… He first was introduced after Ippo won Sendo and Yamada aka Geromichi joined Kamogawa Gym. Also before him was fights with Date’s Gymmate Keigo Okita and with famous speedster Saeki Takuma… a lot of things happened…
His and Ippo’s goals at that time was to challenge and defeat Date Eiji.
To understand a thing, it doesn't matter what, it’s easy to do a lot of repetitions or to compare it. I will compare Vorg with Sendo.
Firstly because Vorg was introduced as a major “antagonist”
Secondly because Sendo and Vorg are my favourite characters and are equally strong fighters, each with unique techniques. Besides that, they fought against each other and Sendo won by decision(!).
Vorg is an attractive person (at least for me for sure), a little sad and melancholic — and he had a reason for that — because his mother is sick. He wants to fight for money and for something else.
The sorrow in his eyes, the manners he got, style of speaking and body language are great.
The main question for Ippo to box is “what is it to be strong”, he is fighting to find it out, and that was the major motive for him in Lallapallooza Arc.
Vorg’s main question was “does he love boxing?” and to answer it he initiated a dialogue between him and Makunouchi.
After the fight and after he lost, the understanding came itself — yes, he likes it.
The character design is also astonishing… and cute. Even inside the anime universe he is different. While others got a little rough face shapes, his are soft and smooth, so clean, especially with his hair colour, which I will describe as ginger, and that voice though…
This post wasn’t intent to tell a complicated story, but to tell my feelings ☺️
See you later space cowboy
Too timid to grow cocky? — Part 1
Hajime no Ippo, by far, is one of my personal favourite anime in the sports genre. Story of a Ippo who — of course as it should be in shounen stories (or not) — was bullied at school, then met my best boy Takamura. Together they must go through Miyata, the rival character for Ippo, and his first main motivation to reach the final match of Rookie Championship.
But first… we should fight Oda Yusuke, Jason Ozuma, Kenta Kobashi, Ryūichi Hayami and get angry at Mashiba Ryo for his desire to win at all costs. Yes WE, at least that’s how I felt about each fight. And, I think that Mashiba is the only one who didn’t appreciate the cheerings after losing to Ippo, and I respect him for that.
Sendo is my second favourite rival, he is a good man and responsible guy. All I want is that everyone could have a friend like him.
And the opposite situation is with Vorg, my favourite rival from all anime seasons (didn’t read manga, so can’t say anything from there). If Sendo is a good mate, a straightforward guy the opposite is Vorg. He is more like a soulmate, and at first I thought he’s hiding something, like he isn’t telling what he thinks.
Anyway thank you all for reading this far, I hope you enjoyed the first part. I hope to talk in more detail in future posts.
Hope to see you again!
