The year is the 10 year anniversary of Your Case or Mine…and I’m currently knee deep in completing the Epilogue (FINALLY).

I’m hoping that there’ll still be an audience around to receive it. It’s been years since I posted the last chapter but I always planned/hoped/wanted to complete the labour-of-love Epilogue with my usual flash-forward style goodies included.

I’m also never on here anymore, but I will post it on here, FFnet and AO3, for anyone who’s still seeing my posts.

So….ive just logged into tumblr for the first time in literally 2+ years, and I’ve found a few messages like this waiting for me. I’ve no idea when you sent this, but I just want to say thank you - it warms my heart so much that people became so invested in my little ole fic.

I was talking to my bestie @resident-of-storybrooke last night, and I AM going to finish this. Next month is the 7 year anniversary of me starting YCoM, and I’m going to do my absolute best to complete it by then (it’s already about halfway written!).

In the time I’ve been away/not writing, I got married and had a little pirate baby of my own, and I’m also back at work, so I get very little downtime. BUT I am carving out 30-60 mins on an evening, a few times a week for writing, and I’m very much committed to completing this epilogue.

I’ll also be posting it on here, as well as FFnet and AO3.

Thank you for loving my labour of love so much. It honestly means the world to me that people have embraced this fic the way they have over the years ❤️❤️

Once Upon a Tweet: Emma is regretting ever trying to teach Killian what a celebrity crush is. After ‘researching’ for a little while, Killian has decided Charlize Theron will be his celebrity crush…and tweeted her to check that it’s okay.

I had a random thought, as I was just causally staring at Emma engagement right (because damn it's a nice sized rock). I wonder if Emma still has the ring Killian gave her in Camelot AND I wonder if Killian will wear a wedding band on his right hand ANYWAYS These are the little things that are always on my mind. I hope you are having an amazing Monday and I hope you have a super duper week :)

*whale noise* I love little headcanony thoughts like this. I would really love to know if she still wears that ring on a chain around her neck sometimes, maybe under her shirt or something. I haven’t seen her wearing any necklaces of late but you never know. Seeing as that ring was so important to Killian, I would love to know where it is.

Perhaps she keeps it safe in that box of things she holds dear, or maybe she has a separate box now for her sentimental pieces, because she’s got a whole different kind of life now, and very different kinds of memories. So she has a box with little items from the point at which she came to Storybrooke.

And it’s got things like that ring stillon the chain, Graham’s shoelace and the first school report Henry gave to her. That photo of herself and MM from before the curse was broken. A ringpop she’d left on the kitchen table one day, causing Killian to choke on his coffee when he saw it, thinking she was popping the question…with candy and plastic. The rose that he gave her on their first date (which she enchanted so it would never wilt). The newspaper clipping from when Killian and Henry had found and circled their house. A little stuffed swan toy on a keyring that Killian has insisted he won for her that one time they went to an amusement arcade for their date night (she still remembers fondly how he’d huffed and puffed about not being able to win it from the ‘blasted machine’ so he’d employed a tactic using his hook and swiped it with a very satisfied grin, giving it to her with a flourish).

I just have so many feelings about how sentimental Emma really is, and how she would most certainly keep a box of trinkets with all these new, happy memories attached to them. And I love to imagine how she strumbles across it one day in the future, when she and Killian are cleaning up waiting for their grandkids to arrive for the weekend, and they sit down together so she can go through the box, happy tears in her eyes as she tells the story of each one. Stories she tells again to the grandkids, and even the one great-grandkid they’re still around to welcome.

Just. Agh. Feelings.
