I like the idea of ​​Rarity protecting her friend from Rainbow, who, for her part, wouldn't mind making Fluttershy her partner. Applejack as Ragatha is a simple yet intriguing concept: both grew up on a farm, even if their life experiences differ. And turn her into a scarecrow. And, of course, AJ and Rainbow would get along far better than Ragatha and Jax do. Casting Twilight as Kinger is a rather debatable choice, but I think she is the best fit for the role out of all the characters. Sunset is a perfect match for Pomni—partly because she joined the group later than the others, and partly because both possess the ability to "see" the problems of those around them and a genuine desire to help.
And then... Pinkie as Caine: both are prone to overreacting if their friends aren't interested in "adventures" or "parties," and are obsessed with proving they are right.
Rarity changes up her look because she doesn't want to show up to Pinkie's "parties" wearing the same thing. Meanwhile, Rainbow might have... well, let's say, internalized homophobia?
