Lore Entry: Ifrit
Ifrit lore
submitted by Lily
Species Name: Ifrit
other names: Efreet, Efreeti
Allowed to go public?: No
Capable of half-fae?: Yes
Lore Here: The Efreet are a race of fae that originated, like most fae do, in the "old world." Being fae strongly associated with fire, the efreet originally choose warm, dry places to settle outside of Underhill, meaning that many of the specie chose to make their home in the warmer climates of southern Europe and the Middle East.
Like most fae, efreet possess the ability of glamour -- the ability to change their physical being to all five senses -- which allow them to pass unseen among humans. Without their glamour, however, the Ifrit are hardly the type of creatures that humanity would willingly accept. Standing at an average of six to nine feet tall, the skin of the Ifrit is often the color and texture of volcanic rock, occasionally decorated by streaks of red and orange, giving the appearance of magma peeking through the cracks. Ifrit are also generally horned beings, though the size and shape of their horns varies from individual to individual, with related individuals tending to appear similar, hinting that the differences may be a matter of genetics. Ifrit also bear retractable, leathery wings that allow them the ability of flight, and all in all, rendering them quite similar in appearance to demons of various faiths.
The other half of the reason the Ifrit aren't allowed to go public, however, has more to do with their abilities than their appearance. Ifrit are capable of creating and controlling fire -- something which makes them formidable, even among fae. Ifrit numbers have always been small, largely because they tend to mate mostly amongst themselves, and were quite often targeted by churches in the past for their strong resemblance to demons.
Ifrit feed on two things: ash, and energy. While they can eat and drink as humans do, Ifrit will gain no sustenance from anything but their preferred meals.
In the past, the energy the Ifrit valued most to feed upon was that created by the human soul. They would burn their victims to ash, and devour the soul and ashen remains when their flames had consumed them, but in the modern day and age, with the laws of the Gray Lords in effect and fae no longer permitted to harm humans, they tend to feed solely on ash.
Most Ifrit share the vulnerability to cold iron that torments most fae, though as they're linked to both earth and fire, when Ifrit crossbreed with iron kissed fae, the offspring are more likely to inherit an immunity to iron. That said, Ifrit tend to be a proud race, and prefer to keep their bloodlines strong and pure, which makes such crossbreeds rare.
The gender ratio for Ifrit is fairly even, with males slightly more common than females, though like many of the long-lived fae, Ifrit reproduce fairly rarely.
Ifrit are vulnerable to water, though only in exceptional quantities, or if they're incapacitated.
Elijah Mikaelson, the noble Original. Over a thousand years old, Elijah is, arguably the best mannered and sociable of his siblings, and quite possibly the most human (or simply humane). Unlike his siblings, Elijah is a man of his word, with an unshakable sense of honour and duty.
We're looking for an Elijah to fill out our ranks on Blurred Lines! We're a S1 AU site with a crossover twist hosted on jcink premium! We're a small, but growing community, always looking for more members!
Now. Let's talk Elijah, and why you should app him! First of all... why wouldn't you?? He's fabulous, dapper, noble, and badass all rolled into one beautiful suit-clad package! But more than that, you'd get all the plots you could possibly want! There's been chatter about Elijah among current members, and the overwhelming consensus is that everyone would love to see him around and interact with him! You'd never be short on plots if you picked him up!
Character Wanted: Marcel Gerard
Marcel Gerard – former slave, adopted son (of sorts) of Niklaus Mikaelson, and most recently: King of the French Quarter of New Orleans. Â
Marcel rules over the French Quarter with an iron fist, and a veritable army of loyal vampires at his back.  After the Original family fled from New Orleans, he seized upon their absence, making their empire his own, and then proceeding to make it even greater than it once was.  He’s sure as hell not short on ambition, and for the most part? He’s a pretty good leader. Â
He’s 200-some years old, power-hungry, and a little bit of a narcissist, but overall?  Not a bad guy, all things considered.  Beyond that, Marcel is a very important character here on Blurred, and we’d love to see him picked up soon!  Since New Orleans is the site of the Bleed, it will also be the site of the most intense change for the time being, and that change may directly affect Marcel and his vampires.  It’s already attracting werewolves from the other side of the Bleed, who are breaking his “no wolves allowed in the Quarter” rule, and we’d love to see some IC retribution for the trespass!  Beyond that, the king of the quarter will also have to defend his kingdom against the mysterious Fae, and possibly even worse – the new breed of vampires that the Bleed has brought to town.
Why should you pick up Marcel? Well, first of all, you’ll never be short on plots!  I don’t think we have a single member who hasn’t expressed an interest in interacting with Marcel!  Beyond that, you’d have a near army of NPC (and probably some PC soon!) vampires to play with if you so choose, and you’d get to be a major part of reshaping the city of New Orleans post-Bleed!  And let’s be honest – Marcel is kind of awesome; why wouldn’t you want to play him?

A S1 AU TVD site
What happens when the line between worlds begins to blur and fade?  Can two worlds survive the process of merging into one? On Blurred Lines, we intend to find out.  Starting from New Orleans, a phenomenon known as the Bleed has begun to spread, allowing the worlds of The Vampire Diaries and the Mercy Thompson/Alpha&Omega series to bleed together.  What will happen when a world where the supernatural has become common knowledge collides with one where it's still a tightly kept secret?  When different breeds of werewolves and vampires clash, more than one line is sure to be blurred.
