Final Tumblr Reflection
I tried to upload my reflection video here, but Tumblr was giving me issues, so I'll provide the Google Drive link instead!
I'm glad to have reached the end of this capstone project and I'm happy with the final product! I definitely learned a lot about myself and my own creative process. I wish everyone the best of luck, including any future capstone students! You've got this!
Final (Written) Tumblr Progress Update
Hello! I wanted to give one last written tumblr progress update! At this point, majority of the work that I have needed to get done this semester has been completed for this capstone! I finished a few things over the past few days. I managed to comb through a lot of my footage and quickly realized that I don't have a ton of behind the scenes footage, as I was mainly in front of the camera, but I have some fun moments that I captured. I also submitted a lot of the housekeeping tasks that I needed to accomplish for this course. I finished putting together my final film, which is essentially just all five of my scenes that I filmed throughout the semester, put together into one long film from start to finish. It's crazy to see how things started and where I was at just a few months ago to where I ended things off. I learned a lot about myself and I think that I learned how to loosen up a little when it comes to the control I have over my creative work. There were a lot of bumps along the way, but I'm glad to have gone through this process. I had to learn how to adapt when things weren't going the way that I needed them to go, whether it was bad weather, equipment malfunctions, or just struggling to work with some of the ideas that I was getting from the audience.
At this point, there are no other work in progress updates, as everything that I needed to do is complete, but I can provide a link to view my film from start to finish here! It was a rough journey, but I had fun putting this project together.

I wish everyone the best of luck with the rest of their courses and I'll be back with my final video reflection soon!

Tumblr Progress Update #7
Hello! The semester is coming to an end and over the past two weeks, I've been working on finalizing my project and putting together the full version of my film utilizing all five of the scenes that I've been working on over the semester. I've been compiling my footage to see what I can upload as behind the scenes footage. I think since I was in front of the camera for most of the filming, I don't really have footage of me working on the film from behind the camera, but I do have some clips of me documenting what was being worked on, or me being trapped in the car waiting for the rain to stop so we could resume filming. I think for the most part, this time has been spent working on my final projects for other courses and checking off all the end of semester tasks for the capstone.
The next two weeks will be the final upload phase and getting all of my media assets uploaded to the folder. I will also be updating my workback plan for the last time and make sure all of my final accounts are working and active.
There haven't been any real hiccups or hurdles, but I definitely wanted to reflect on the fact that this project has allowed to me to learn more about my creative process and how I work under my deadlines. I learned more about my strengths and weaknesses, when to take control and when to let go. I think these are things that I can carry with me wherever I go next and I hope to apply that adaptability moving forward.
I didn't have a chance to share Act 5 here in my last post, as I was still working on it while writing my last update, so I'll share it here!
Act 5:
We are almost at the end! All of my final assets should be uploaded by the final due date, so I'm exactly where I need to be on my timeline!
Thank you!

Tumblr Progress Update #6
Hello! The past two weeks have been going towards finishing up my capstone! I set out to film five scenes over the course of the semester and I've reached the point where I'm at the end, working on the fifth and final scene. I spent a lot of time trying to write the final scene and I just recently finished filming the final scene. The first draft of the edit is done and I'll probably fine tune a few things here and there before the release on April 12th (which is two days away).
The next two weeks are going to be focused in on any final touches for my capstone and putting together my final deliverable (all five scenes together from start to finish) and I will also be focusing on getting any items that need to be addressed for the course completed by their due dates (senior bio forms, graduation videos etc.)
I think in terms of hurdles over the past two weeks, I would say writing this last scene was a little difficult. The hardest scenes for me to write were the first and second scenes, as I was still trying to get used to my schedule, but this last scene was hard to balance. I think this entire project has forced me to let go of some creative control, since the scenes are driven by the viewers and not fully by me. I can still make creative choices that stay true to me, but I also have to stay true to the suggestions that I receive, which at times, has made things really difficult. I had to figure out a way to balance all of that. The final scene was really difficult, since I had an idea of how I wanted the entire film to end, but I had to change gears and go with a happier ending than the one I had originally envisioned. I think letting go of that control has been a hurdle for me personally, but I think I've also grown because of it.
I can share my Act 4 Scene here, since I don't think I got to share it last time! I can also send screenshots of some of shots from Act 5!

Act Five Sneak Peek:
I'm currently exactly where I wanted to be on my timeline. The final scene was always supposed to release on April 12th, and I'm on track to release that scene on time! This entire project was stressful but I can see the finish line and I'm right there. The next time I post, all my scenes will be out and I'll most likely be done putting all the final touches together for my deliverable!

Tumblr Progress Update #5
The past two weeks have been stressful, but I have managed to keep up with my schedule. I finished working on my third scene and put together another teaser for my TikTok account. I also spent spring break working on writing my fourth scene. Over the next two weeks, I will be working on filming my fourth scene and getting that scene published on March 29th. I will also be working on writing my fifth and final scene. I can't believe that it's almost over.
There were a few hurdles and hiccups that I had to deal with over the past couple of weeks. Rain was another major issue since it always rains on the nights that I need to film. I had to adapt and change the scene to make it work. I made sure to write the fourth scene in a new location that will work with rain in case it does. TikTok was also preventing me from publishing my third scene due to an audio issue, so my third scene went up a bit later than I wanted it to. I've gotten a little more traction on my account lately, which has made it a lot easier for me to write my scenes, which I am thankful for.
I can share my third scene here!

Act Three:
The next scene will be the last scene I collect responses from and I'm hoping to get some good ideas on how to wrap up the story.
I am currently on track with my workback plan. I'm happy that I have managed to not fall behind on my schedule and within the next few weeks, I will be done with my deliverable. I'll still be working on finalizing things and I might try to put together something for my account after the film is done.
Here's a screenshot of my shot list for the next scene!

Tumblr Progress Update #4
The past two weeks have been pre-production, production, and post-production weeks creating my second scene of five based on the responses I got from my first scene. I spent a lot of time scripting and trying to come up with other posts that I could make to try and enhance engagement through my social media account on TikTok. Over the next two weeks, I will be working on my third scene out of five. I'm going to have to write, shoot, and edit a new scene, which will likely be shorter in length, as I'm currently trying to test different scene lengths to see which ones perform better and receive more engagement from the audience.
In terms of hurdles over the past two weeks, the major hurdle I'm currently facing is that I have been struggling to get responses on any of my posts, which will basically determine whether or not my project can move forward. So, that is currently stressing me out. The other hurdle happened on the night of filming, as the weather was making it very difficult to film and made the process take twice as long. I'm concerned about the next week of filming, as it's supposed to rain again throughout the week, which will likely only make things harder for me in the long run.
I currently have two of my scenes up on TikTok to share here! If you want to check them out and participate in the interactive film series, you can find them here:

Act One [Responses Already Collected]:
Act Two [Responses Still Being Collected]:
I'm currently still on track in terms of my workback plan, but a little further behind than I would like since I haven't really been able to work on the script for the next scene since I'm still waiting for responses. I have a response, but it doesn't really drive the story forward in any way, so I'd have to get really creative to see if I can incorporate "Pop Tarts" in a way that has some kind of meaning to the plot.
Fingers crossed that I'm able to get at least one or two more responses to try and make something tangible for Act 3, as I still have a few more scenes to go before my deliverable is complete.
I'm also building up my project folder on google drive, so I can share a screenshot of that.

Tumblr Progress Update #3
The past two weeks have been really busy. It has been heavy in terms of pre-production especially. I spent a lot of time putting together my shot list and scouting out locations for filming. After going through the pre-production phase, I had to set a schedule for myself to film my project and figure out what order to film all of my shots. I had to work around my work schedule and my other classes since the first initial scene includes mainly night shoots, and I work the closing shifts five nights out of the week. I did manage to work around it, though. I'm currently working on finishing up the rest of the shots that I need to get and I'm also working on editing the scene at the same time. I also worked on getting teasers done for my TikTok account. Those teasers are slowly being released this week up until the release of my first scene on February 16th.
TikTok Account: @bqtero.films
The next two weeks are going to be releasing more behind-the-scenes content as well as releasing the first initial scene. I'm also going to be going back through the pre-production and production phases again for the second scene.
Some hurdles that I had to go through over the past two weeks had to do with the location scouts. Some locations that I had originally planned to film at weren't great in terms of lighting or some shots were just too difficult to get, so I had to change gears and switch locations. I also broke my tripod on the day of filming, so I had to improvise with some shots and try to use my old tripod to film certain shots. I've got the tripod replaced at this point, but it was stressing me out on the first day of filming. I still have concerns about traction on my TikTok account and getting responses, but I won't know until I actually release the first initial scene how that will go. I've gotten a decent amount of interaction so far, enough to get responses when the time comes, so I'm crossing my fingers. While planning the shots and the story, I also had to consider filming over multiple weeks and months and trying to keep continuity as consistent as possible. I'm trying to keep my hairstyle and outfits all in check, and I also had to consider locations that would undergo the least amount of changes over time for certain scenes. Scenes that I only use once aren't really the issue here, but scenes that cut into the following scenes are going to require a little more care to ensure continuity stays intact.
I'm currently right on schedule on my timeline and I'm keeping up with my deadlines so far! I'm currently in the production phase, heading into the post-production phase for my first scene out of five. This first scene is likely going to take the most amount of work and is the longest to film, but everything is still going smoothly all things considered.
I have my teasers and my introductory video complete! I don't want to send any teasers I haven't already released, so I'll send my first teaser here along with a section of my shot list!

Tumblr Progress Update #2
The past two weeks for me have been about trying to get everything together to actually start working on the main production for my project. I had to finalize some details and shift gears in the first two weeks. I was originally going to do a YouTube series, but I am now doing a TikTok film series. There has also been a lot of planning done behind the scenes in terms of scheduling film days and trying to put together a reasonable schedule that allows me to flexibly work on the project and push out content every two weeks. The workback plan and my filming schedule calendar have been put together and it allows me to better visualize the schedule and allow me to better stick to the schedule, as these film scenes are time-sensitive.
Some hurdles that I had to face mainly had to do with trying to make some early decisions about the film project itself. While I am currently in the process of putting together a shot list, location list, and an overall script for the project, I had to make decisions on who would play the main character in the film, as this project is not only being shot over a single set of days, but would be months worth of commitment every couple of weeks. In order to better control the schedule and continuity, I made the choice to be the main character in the film series, which presents its own set of challenges in terms of how the film itself is shot. I think the concept of having an audience decide what happens in the next scene and then building that scene after a set response period is also going to present a unique set of challenges, as I would be going through a cycle of pre-production, production, and post-production every couple of weeks.
In the coming weeks, I will focus in on pre-production of the initial scene for the film that will be going up in mid-February and I will be putting together an introductory video for my TikTok account, which will be used to house this project. Currently, I don't have any deliverable drafts to share, as I'm still currently in pre-production, but I do have screenshots of my film schedule and a vision board that I can share here.
In terms of my timeline, I am currently in the pre-production phase, putting together my schedules and writing out the script for the initial scene. Throughout the semester, there are planned to be five total scenes that all culminate into one interactive film built by the audience. The first scene is going to take the longest to put together as it sets up the entire film and is likely to be the longest part aside from the final part.
